  1. I am not hiding behind a keyboard obviously @Thedreammachine you know who I am youre the one hiding behind a keyboard. you also know I have been associated with NH football since 2006, been in The NH community, and have seen alot more with NH than you can see. Appreciate you opinion, and since you know who I am you know I have enough experience on and off the field to form an accurate opinion, and I can express that opinion where ever I like. Good luck in your schedule down south and I pray for the health and well being of the Trojans this week!
  2. As a North Hardin Parent, this game was a dumpster fire. Not taking away anything from Etown, they took advantage of every opportunity the NH coaching staff and lack of execution by the NH players given to them. I look forward to watching ETOWN through the rest of the season!!! NH Trojan Football continues to over promise, under deliver, and totally underwhelm. This program has done less with more under Thompson than at any other time in the last 2 decades. It is rumored that Coach Thompson's Pre-Game speech centered around the fact that Etown passed him over in the early 2000's before his exodus to Alabama with Brett Burnett to be his OL coach. Then again, Etown passed on Thompson, when he was the head coach of NH after 2 or 3 dismal season. Thompson expressed interest in the opening (not sure he actually applied but he expressed his interest) and was turned down for the HC position when Etown pursued and hired the retired Mark Brown rather than Thompson, a distinguished alumnus. (Obviously the Etown powers that be made the right pick and must be pleased with their selection!) North Hardin Football has many problems, and the murderous schedule on the horizon for the next 7 weeks. Maybe things will change at NH in the next year, but I am not seeing the powers that be there having the fortitude to make a change. We shall see. Good luck panthers!!!!
  3. I guess talking to and playing golf with PT himself this past week means nothing! Get out from behind the keyboard and get out!
  4. Cool I guess I have no clue what I am talking about, nor do the folks I spoke with, who were involved in the situation. Cool man you know it all!
  5. PT was never contacted by Taylor County nor did he have any interest in that job. anyone who says otherwise is simply fake news. The AD and President have seen that PT is well paid for his services at CU.
  6. I have heard from a reliable source that the job was offered to only 1 coach. Marshall Went for Birdsong from the jump. Regardless, why wouldnt you want a hometown hero to come back and take the program to the next level???? Terry Birdsong has won at everything and everywhere he has always been! I am proud to see the MC admin do what ever it took to get this one right!
  7. I would say this will be an inside hire! 3 strong candidates on staff, 1 with successful head coaching experience! Teaching positions are slim to none! However, some names from across the state I could se looking at this job are.... Lance Gregory of Graves Co would need a job for him and an Admin for his wife! Mike Rogers who is sitting out but would need a sped and I think his wife is a nurse Joey Stockton from the college ranks has been floating around Radcliff. Will be interesting to see how this one plays out!!!!
  8. Sweet16, I am not sure where they posted the job. I know it wasnt posted on the KHSAA until a few days ago. I think they must have felt that people would be beating down Stoke's Lovett's and Waggoner's door to apply. However after the way Gillespie was treated, the line must not have been that big, or the person they just knew would take it turned them down. Looks like something is awry in Marshal Land!
  9. Whos going to be the skipper of the Orange and Blue next year? Stokes? A young hot coach? a shocker? a proven winner with MC Roots??? the superintendent who took over the softball program? Who will it be?
  10. Well I will shut up now. News coming and heard an open job. Wrong I was...fight there was
  11. Just an observation, I believe Coach B is in a special education teacher, in an emotional behavior disorder classroom....EBD, and in my time as a teacher, I was trained to be able to restrain students having severe outbursts that put themselves or other students in harms way. Often times, these students with EBD, were lets say a product of their environments at home. Of course if little EBD johnny throws tantrums, fits, and threats at school, you can bet your hind-end he is doing it at home and usually the parental units will take up and defend him and their poor parenting. so it will be interesting to see what the rest of the story is. Is Coach B bullying and fighting kids?? Or is he dealing with EBD kids and their stellar parents are finding fault with his methods???? Just a hunch by some really stand up keyboard hero's on here talking out their butt about a teacher "fighting" a student is someone with an axe to grind trying to discredit or defame a coach they can not get along with. Hmmm, what do you think? A disgruntled parent or student throwing half truths out here or a royal rumble with a former NFL Linebacker who gets his jollies by beating up high school kids???? You do the math!
  12. I would beg to differ on the hiring of Mike Rogers.....Rogers has over promised and under delivered everywhere he has been since Graves County!!!!!
  13. Sadly this entire situation is a result of cowardliness! Somewhere in the past few years, (I suspect its a result of fast tracking a lot of greenies from the classroom to the front office, and now from the front office to the board office) educators have lost their advocates and protection from the administration! These spineless politicians forgot a key rule in life, people only have a voice if you give them an ear to listen. Admin has forgotten the KRS (the law) is on their side, and because of this this omission they kowtow to every angry parent, most of which couldn't submit their complaints in writing nor could they sign it. When the admin is fearful and places being popular over being right, empowering parents and children who are wrong, and sadly giving them a voice when they should be silence or ignored, we get the turd pile sandwich we have today. Lord help us. I am a former teacher, former administrator who left the field to pursue other ventures. When I was working on my admin certification, a dear mentor Dr. Dick Flynn always said....if you're not getting sued, you're not doing your job right. BOE's pay retainers for a reason!!!!!
  14. I want to say Congrats to North Hardin! It seemed North Struggled to Put JH away, and it was more like JH gave the game away. Several Big Plays, Big Calls impacted this game. The Trojan Defense was up to the challenge tonight, but like others mentioned, JH was a train wreck when it came to discipline, and doing the little things that it would take to win this game! I am not sure if NH won this game of if JH lost it.
  15. Let me qualify myself. I am a former high school head coach, varsity assistant, coordinator, and even middle school helper. I coached and taught for 10 years here in the great state of KY. I have coached in the rural wilds of western KY in a school of 400 to the multicultural areas of Central KY in a school with 1600. I think its fair to say I have been around the sport and the state a bit. I think today we can see a huge lack of loyalty on all sides. It has started in the NFL, NCAA, and trickled its way down. This lack of loyalty stems from the what have you done for ME lately mindset. I think there is a perfect storm of circumstances that have changed the game, coaching, and the values that are present in High-school football. Parents aren't loyal to schools (shopping their kids from place to place) Parents do not have realistic expectations when it comes to program development, athletes talent level, and what it truly takes to WIN on a big Level Administrators expect coaches to make chicken salad out of chicken feathers....budgets, staffing, fund raising, program administration, dealing with unrealistic parents, etc..... Coaches develop a me first mentality out of necessity. I feel that if the coaches dont look out for themselves first no one else (well very few will) There is little trust and loyalty in the entire system and many of the participants (admin, parents, and some athletes, do not know the price to succeed at a high level and if they do know that price they say they are willing to pay it but lack the guts to actually belly up and pay the price!!!) So all of these factors lead to ZERO loyalty, and almost everyone is looking out for themselves rather than whats best for the PROGRAM and the Kids! Thanks for reading my opinion and slight rant.
