Frankfort has more than facility issues. The four poorest socioeconomic communities comprise this district. The only hope is that there is a revamp of some quality and affordable housing within this community. Frankfort has a community problem. The money is moving outward and there is no money downtown. I would also love to see a count of housing downtown at this point. How many houses are of quality and standard? How many are owned for business purpose? There is no gated community downtown. The next coach will run into some challenges along the way but hopefully the old faces will return and put some support behind them. Good luck to the next coach! It’s next man up Frankfort has been playing football at Sower Field for over 180 years and they will continue to put a product on the field. Boyle survived after Chuck, X survived after Glazier, Danville Survived After Harp, Frankfort will survive after Foley!

That incline bench probably is outdated for a tetanus shot it’s so old! Let’s be real guys these aren’t quality facilities. Let’s get some pics of the visitors locker room and then let’s ask are these Facilities kids want to show up to and work.

I like Matthews, I also like Brock Roberts once at Eminence and has been at Collins. Young blood with a good mind for the game! Could bring the energy and spark with new facilities! I do know there is also an up and coming coach at West Middle School not sure of the name but I hear he is doing well and has strong ties to the youth league! Could be a solid way to start a strong feeder system! -

22 years of service and hearing he has been pushed out right before they lay the new turf! Messed up scenario! -

Sad day in Shelby County! Never received the support he needed inside the school and that will continue to be the question for whomever is the next shot caller! Hard to preach buy in when an assistant principal at the school has children going and playing for the rival! -
Does this make 0-3 for Douglass? Crazy after what happened to make this team! Someone can fact check me on this but a stat and trend that I have seen. There has still only been 1 Lexington Public School to win a State Championship and that’s the 1981 Henry Clay Team! What does this say about football 64-E?

Congratulations to Coach Johnson and the Jackets on a tremendous year! Let’s be honest no one was expecting them to be where they are right now! SW is and has been good since the creation. I remember the first one in 4A and now being an assertive force in 5A Coach Smith will have these boys ready and I would think they will be hoisting a trophy next weekend. -

These boys are playing for more than a trophy! Say what you want but that type of fire is hard to put out! Congratulations to JC! Great season to FC a lot of people turned their backs after the off season and the Woodford loss to take a kid who had no previous snaps at QB and to make this run was special. -
They are at least 7-0 good against the teams they’ve played and probably the best Woodford team we have seen. The Franklin game is not a good test and I do expect this team to finish their schedule undefeated. Strength of Schedule is what needs to be taken into account here and unfortunately it is not 5A Battle Tested. I expect we won’t see the real answer to this question until week 2-3 of the playoffs. They should get a 1 seed and play two bunnies before seeing a real team! To those who think they can make it to Kroger I am sorry to crush your hopes and dreams but this won’t be happening!

Franklin County at Woodford County Predictions/Updates

I have been waiting for this game all season. Friday nights are meant for games like this. Opponent Records: WC Opponents: 6-10 FC Opponents: 9-6 Every great story has a plot twist and this should be the plot twist for each of these teams. WC is undefeated for the first time since who knows when and will be tested for the first time this season against a physical Flyer Defense. FC is coming off two losses to who could be two of the best teams in the state in their classes, and it appears the Flyers have been humbled a bit after that week one celebration. The Flyers could turn it around with a solid win showing the state they have resettled and are ready for district play and the playoffs. The Jackets could continue full head of steam and remain undefeated showing us all they deserve to be mentioned in the 5A chatter. An old history teacher once told me to "Rely on history because it always repeats itself!" History says: Since the battle of US-60 has been renewed in 2007, WC has only won this game one time in 2008. The Flyers would only win one game the following year the Flyers would go 1-9 only beating the Jackets. I never been much of a history buff, but I have always been a fan of the underdog. Everything says roll with the Flyers but something is telling me different and I cant wait to see what the buzz is about! Give me the Jackets! 🐝 WC: 28 FC: 24 -
I would imagine Coach James knew what he was in for when he put this schedule together and losing two of his best offensive weapons off last years roster. Ballard is easily the 3rd best team in 6A and Corbin is an impressive team and an early front runner for 4A champs. The Flyers will regroup and sweep their district and be ready to overcome this same type of adversity in the playoffs. I would like to see them get another shot at Corbin in the playoffs to see if there is a difference. As for Scott they are obviously down and the talent has Escaped to that new school in town. Any time a lower class beats a larger class former powerhouse it is impressive but I think that win is becoming less and less impressive as SC’s season unfolds. Next week should be very interesting as the flyers travel to Woodford to take on an undefeated Jacket team!

What happened!? Was SC not up 21-12? -
At what point can we just say it’s not the same without the old ball coach?

Eating crow from my prediction! Congratulations Corbin!

It’s Unpopular because I never pick the ugly birds! Not because they are the favorite. -

Unpopular Opinion: This game won’t be close. The Flyers are playing on a different level right now and I’m not talking offensively. The defense is disciplined and hard nose and despite losing some personnel last year to graduation they seem to have plugged the holes. Give me the ugly birds in this one. FC-42 Corbin- 7 -

I think it will be a two touchdown game. To lose their starting QB and Top WR and to look like they did last week was impressive. AGAIN, its an unpopular opinion for a reason. -

Unpopular Opinion: The birds of the capital city deserve a higher nod than 4. Especially after rolling Scott like they did. Flyers will be 2-0 heading into a week 3 matchup with Corbin. I expect the FC to roll on Corbin.
