Trinity (8-3) will host Saint Xavier (8-3) after beating Meade County 52-14. St. X is coming off a 58-0 win over Oldham County.

Earlier in the season, Trinity won 45-10.

Calpreps ratings:

Trinity 48.0

St. X 38.1

Trinity has won 6 straight since their loss to Male and the defense has played well over that stretch and a good defense can get you to Kroger field in December. Freshman QB Zane Johnson has played like a senior completing 58% of his passes for 1395 yards with 20 touchdown passes and only 5 interceptions. RB Clinton Sansbury is the leading scorer with 17 touchdowns and 16 of them rushing. Jeremiah Lynn is the top WR who has 10 touchdowns receiving but did not play against Meade County so his status for this game is unknown. S Robert Morrow has led the defense with 66 tackles and LB Brady McEnaney has led with 8 sacks and they form a potent one-two defensive punch.

St. X has won 4 straight since their loss to Manual and have played better defensively which was evident when they held Bowling Green's powerful offense to one touchdown. They also shut out PRP who gave Ballard a scare last night. Turnovers have been a problem for the Tigers at times this season and had 4 of them against Bowling Green and will have to play turnover free against a good Trinity team. QB Trevor Havill missed the Oldham County game with a wrist injury and his status is unknown. QB Thomas Andriole played well in his place. QB Andriole played in the second half of the Bowling Green game as well. RB Davis Yates has led the Tigers on the ground with 855 yards and 10 touchdowns. WR Marlon Harbin has led in receiving with 685 yards and 5 touchdowns. DE/LB Tyler Neal has led the defense with 61 tackles and 11 sacks. S Sam Crum is a key to the secondary because the games he was out with injury the secondary had some rough outings and its key he stays healthy and he's 2nd in tackles despite missing some games.

This should be a closer game than the first matchup but with Trinity playing at home and how they looked in the first game will definitely be favored and St. X will have to play mistake free to pull the upset. Does Trinity move onto the third round or can the Tigers pull the upset?

Got mine too. I heard Trinity is going to bring in some extra bleachers. I'll be getting there early since parking will be tough if wait until close to game time.

I work close by so I’m going to meet a buddy for some refreshments and grub before and just walk. I’d imagine parking will be non-existent.

???

Trinity vs St. X. Playoffs ticket update. The initial allotment for digital tickets has sold out. Digital ticket sales are paused until Monday evening after each school has had the opportunity to sell tickets to its students and determine capacity limits after those sales. ☘️?

From Trinity Twitter - not calling it X for obvious reasons…

As a Trinity fan I am very nervous about this one. More of a reflection on the Trinity coaching staff. After Cindy St. X, I have seen a regression in focus and play. Also, the off the field stuff has been troublesome. I am hoping the importance of this game will bring everyone and everything back into focus.

For me, it’s a must win for this coaching staff.

A regression since the Cincy X game?

They've defeated their opponents 179-24 since then.

Their largest margins of victory have all come after they played the Bombers.

I’m still in shock to see this game in round 2 of the playoffs. Have they ever met in the playoffs this early?
