Interesting hire.
-
The indoor Facility conversation did start prior to the hire of the new coach. Based on what I am hearing he is involved a lot more with a lot of the planning than the previous coach. As for the indoor being football only.. I don’t know any school that could say that. But based on location let’s say football would/could have primary use. But the entire facility will be much more than just football.

Based on what I have been told he has been hiring a staff. Building relationships with current players. Appears to have good numbers in the weight room. Also been working with the AD and outgoing Super to get an indoor sports complex built.

Team that travels has the option. Coin toss a good of 6 minutes.
-
There has been conversations going since last fall. Recently there was an article in the Newspaper. Everyone I spoken with believes it will get done.
-
I see this could very well be long term. There is a commitment to building and indoor practice facility. The school just did a $5 million upgrade to their gym. Foley had a 13 year run that was as good as anyone could have asked for at a Class A school.

Per Twitter this one is official. Ethan Atchley is the new Head Coach at FHS.

Exciting times for Frankfort. New Coach will get to reboot a program that has a proud history dating 150 years.
-
I have been told Frankfort is hosting a meet the New Coach at Sower Football Field on Thursday.

No Sir, just continuing the capital city clown caravan banter we have going here. You guys do that enough to yourself on that east side.
-
You guys are also lucky to have any coaches that you have out there. Your head coach doesn't even want to be there. I hear the only thing that scared him from Highlands was the Cannons still ringing from those old games in 04-05.
-
You guys hired a guy at one point who was the head coach at WC and he lost to a guy who was coaching FC that only won one game and that was beating the WC coach lol! Didn't know you guys hired Saban on the hill recently?

Frankfort has about 150 boys in the school that has about 300 kids. Resources at Frankfort are limited. From what I hear Foley wasn’t perfect. But the man left as the schools All time winningest coach 12 district titles, 2 regional titles, 2 Semi-final appearances. Won 68% of the games he coached. In between Raymond Webb and Foley they had 3 head coaches and Zero winning seasons. I would say many High School Coaches would like that run.
-
I trust that Athletic Director, Principal, and the Superintendent all did their homework. I also know plenty of parents that have kids that played for the man and they all speak highly of him.

If true Home Run Hire for Frankfort.

Round two of Interviews happened last week. Are we close to an announcement?
-
People get caught up on resumes. I look at Competencies. Don’t have to be a head coach to have the competency of a head coach.
-
This is a very good job but like many does have challenges. But as someone mentioned has to be the right person, because not everyone can coach at Frankfort. I am sure there are some other places across the state that are the same. Meaning just a unique job in its own way.

I have talked with someone very close to Coach Foley and was on staff. Based on what They say the series ended not because of sour grapes or because of winning/losing games. The series had become to bitter between certain adults. As for contracts they have a buy out clause. I can only assume Franklin asked for the money.

With the right hire the Frankfort - Franklin County series could restart. But first The new coach would have some rebuilding to do. As for the current search for a new coach there are some quality coaches that have surfaced. The pool actually has just gotten interesting. This info is from 2 people that have told me they applied. They also have been called for interviews.
