This may be the best matchup in Class 1A. 
Sayre (11-0) welcomes in Paris (10-1) for a 2nd round playoff showdown. Both teams have put up over 400 points on the board this season. Sayre may be the team undefeated, but Paris has played the tougher schedule and allowed a little more points than Sayre. Sayre has given up 85 points, while Paris has given up 151 points.These two teams in the final ranking of the BluegrassPreps Class 1A Top 10 were Paris #4 and Sayre #5.  So this should be a dandy.

Paris has definitely played a more difficult schedule. The Greyhounds win by a couple scores.

This will be a really good game. The winner gets raceland at home round 3.

I believe Paris wins, should be a fairly good game.

Let’s be realistic outside of Raceland and Rockastle these schedules aren’t that much different! Give me the Spartans in what will be an upset based on how this is being portrayed!

Where is Sayre’s field?  My crew plans on attending this game.

Sayre is an enigma.   It seems that they often only play well enough to win, and keep something left in the tank.  We have played both teams - a pre-season scrimmage with Sayre and a regular season game at Paris.  They are different style teams.  Sayre, when they are on the top of their game is a pass-first team, while the Hounds will try to out-run and out-score you. 

The big question in my mind is - Is the Sayre defense good enough to contain the Hounds.  If so, I do believe their offense is capable of matching them point to point.  If not, Raceland will be coming to Blanton Collier Stadium the following Friday.

Here is a state line for you:

Sayre QB Luke Pennington thru 11 games: 137/197 (69.5%) for 2,081 yards. 42 TDs and ZERO Ints ?.

I understand it's not top level competition, but this is impressive at any level!!! 

I may be wrong but Luke may be the only QB in the state without an interception on record this season. 

I know this is just one game for each I’m speaking of but Sayre beat Eminence 12-8 while Paris beat Eminence 55-12. Any insight on those games? That says a little bit to me for what it’s worth.

Like opponents Sayre struggled...Greyhounds punished their man. Hounds win going away.
