Those first 3 weeks will definitely tell us alot about BS. They're having to replace 5 guys on defense who will be playing D1 ball this fall. They're having to replace over half of their 22 starters.

KHSAA meeting: Running clock change
KP33 replied to Tigerpride94's topic in KY Football (High School)
What game ended with a 105-6 score??? -
I pulled these numbers from KHSAA. 1A - 6207 2A - 7432 3A - 6205 4A - 8406 5A - 6299 6A - 9029 Total - 43578 Average - 7263 It would've been interesting to see what the numbers could've been had Douglass won at Trinity setting up a State/District Championship game in Lexington between 2 Lexington schools.

Boyle County 41 Covington Catholic 0 (4A State Championship)
KP33 replied to theguru's topic in KY Football (High School)
Off the top of my head I know that Tavey starts at Safety. Demuariah Brown and Sage Dawson start at both CB spots, and Avery Bodner starts at LB. -
FWIW this is how calpreps currently has them ranked. 1. Boyle County 2. Trinity 3. Bryan Station 4. Covington Catholic 5. Christian Academy of Louisville 6. Cooper 7. Bowling Green 8. Mayfield 9. Owensboro Catholic 10. Bell County 11. Raceland 12. Pikeville

So Douglas this season despite being in a down year beat St X in a scrimmage, beat Trinity on the road and has now beat Male on the road for a regional championship. Can any other school in Ky say they've done anything similar against the Big 3?
-
I think for the semi finals Frederick Douglass at Trinity Station at Ballard 2 Lexington schools will be rematching 2 Louisville school that theyve both beat for a chance to go to the State Championship.

Ryle at Bryan Station Predictions/Updates

Verax just threw another pick 6. It is now 49-12 BS. #54 who just caught the pick 6 is the nephew of NFL star Jamal Adams. -
I think they could try doing this after the season so like all the class championships could be viewed as conference championships and then there could be an invite system to compete for the open Division Championship
-
All the talks about Boyle County being the best team in the state regardless of class has made me wonder, would it be possible to have an Open Division Championship in Kentucky to determine the true (overall) state champion? And would it be a good idea? I know that Cali and Arizona have it. It makes sense in Cali because of just how many schools they have but Arizona despite being much larger than Kentucky in population the amount of schools they have who play 11 man football is around the same. Kentucky has 224 highschool football teams and Arizona has 220. I feel like it could be possible, but I want to see what you guys think of the idea. Here's an article by the the AZCentral talking about them implementing it in Arizona. https://www.azcentral.com/story/sports/high-school/2019/01/22/aia-executive-board-approves-landmark-open-division-football/2643983002/ This article talks about this seasons open Division tournament https://www.eastvalleytribune.com/sports/ala-qc-ready-for-third-straight-open-division-appearance/article_fa3b1ed8-849f-11ee-9d42-3b7802f7ba36.html

Corbin at Boyle County Predictions/Updates
KP33 replied to MorrowManiac's topic in KY Football (High School)
It's not far fetched since I'm guessing you've come to that conclusion based on the fact that PT has the 17th ranked Safety in the Nation who has offers from 7 of the current top 10 teams in the CFP Rankings? -
Corbin at Boyle County Predictions/Updates
KP33 replied to MorrowManiac's topic in KY Football (High School)
I think what will help Boyle in this game the most is that they're more dangerous in the air than on the ground, as good as the twins are they're not gonna be deep in the secondary, so they can kind of avoid them. If Boyles Oline can slow them down just a bit I think they'll win. With the focus being on Quisinberry and Brown, I think Geo could be key in this game he's averaging 32 yards per catch which is by far the most on their team and he might be the fastest guy on the team. I'm expecting him to only get single coverage. It's not often u play a team who's WR3 runs sub 10.9 in the 100. -
CAL has 2 convincing wins over top 10 teams in 6A one of which spent a good chunk of the season in the top 5, and Lex Cath's 4 losses are all to teams who would all beat Mayfield. 3A might not be deep but their best 2 teams are still very good and are both around the same caliber if not better than Mayfield imo.

Ohh ok thanks, I had seen PT's stadium in pictures and it never appeared that large to me especially with the small away bleachers, the only stadium that's ever looked large to me is Manuel Stadium and Stadium of Champions in Hoptown. -

Are there even any highschool stadiums in Kentucky that could potential hold anywhere near that many people? -

If the weather is good I see this game being very similar to the BG vs SW game last season in the semi finals. -
Frederick Douglass at Male Predictions/Updates
KP33 replied to Colonels_Wear_Blue's topic in KY Football (High School)
I don't think it should tarnish the hype train just yet because the vast majority Douglass seniors and most important contributes are all playing in college right now, this should honestly be viewed morr like a rebuild year for them imo. -

Bullitt East vs. Ryle Predictions/Updates
KP33 replied to 859Radio's topic in KY Football (High School)
My bad I forgot that they did play and beat Central, I definitely like that win for them. I still favor Ryle slightly since they're at home but I would not be shocked if BE won, I personally want to see BE at BS next friday. Ryles defense is giving up 165 yds on the ground, BE averages 166 per game on the ground. So establishing the ground game will definitely be key. We'll see if BE secondary (154 yds p/g) can slow down Verax (255 yds p/g) in the air. -
Bullitt East vs. Ryle Predictions/Updates
KP33 replied to 859Radio's topic in KY Football (High School)
I think what's hurting Bullit East in the polls is the lack of a signature win. Theyre best 2 wins are Fern Creek and Woodford. Ryles best 2 wins are both convincing wins over Cooper and Dixie Heights. Also if you look at their schedules. Male is the only impressive team that Bullit East played. On the other hand Ryle has played CovCath, Cooper, Highlands, Cal, and St. X. So they're coming into this game more battle tested. As much as I'd like to see BS get a rematch against Bullit East, I think Ryle will be the one making the trip to Lexington next Friday. -

unfortunately for you no, those 2 out of state games really did your Broncos in. They'll most likely be traveling to Male while BS hosts Ryle or Bullit East.
