Bryan Station 21 Simon Kenton 7
They played last year with Station winning 24-14. Station returned most of that team, their best player Jordan Haskins is healthy, and their run game has improved with the addition of Jermiah Turner. I saw that Simon Kenton graduated their leading Rusher and Receiver, how have their replacements faired so far this season?

Christian Academy of Louisville 52 Owensboro 0
Saw that he now has the National High School football record for completion percentage in a season. He had more Touchdowns than incompletions. 53 Touchdowns to only 47 incompletions.

Best Team To Not Win a Title?
This one is a bit out there because there's some hindsight involved, and is based more on what the players on that roster are up to now rather than what they did then, but the 2018 FD Douglass team went 11-1 losing in the 2nd round to State Runner Up Scott County 28-27. Had they won they likely would've went all the way to the Title game and I think they would've matched up well with Male that year. 5 (4 Off, 1 Def) players on that team went on to either get drafted, signed UDFA deals or received mini camp invites in 2026.

2026 NFL Draft
IMG/Frederick Douglass Bronco Dekel Crowdus had received an opportunity to compete for a roster position with the Kansas City Chiefs in Rookie Mini Camp! That now makes it 5 former Broncos who have signed some sort of deal with an NFL Team. This will definitely keep attracting talent to FD and continue to keep the Football program on top for a long time inside of Fayette County. Fun fact: All 5 suited up for the 2018 Frederick Douglass Broncos. Have any other Ky Football teams ever fielded a roster with that many future NFL caliber talent before?

Did LCA lock Belfry out of the locker room at halftime?
So I've got 2 younger brothers who've played games/scrimmages at LCA within the last 4 years one of whom played there 2x this year and I asked him about the locker room situation. He told me that whenever they've played there at halftime they stayed outside behind the bleachers. I've attached a picture. The away lockeroom (red) is in the school building in what appears to be the gym so possibly the visiting lockroom for boys basketball if not just in the open gym? So Belfry would've had to spend a large portion of their halftime just walking to and from the locker room. The LCA lockeroom (blue) is by the softball field. He also told me it's very small and that whenever he's played at LCA as the home team (bowl games) they struggled to fit the team inside that locker room at halftime with some players having to stand outside. So from the looks of it LCA did not lock Belfry out of a lockroom but they do need to invest in a larger field house, because a visiting team having to choose between freezing outside during halftime or spending half of their half time walking to and from the locker room is very unfair. They have the space for it and I'm sure they've got the money for it as well.

4 seed upset alerts?
In 6A district 7 vs district 8 5-5 GRC (#4 D8) is more than capable of beating 4-6 Tates Creek (#1 D7). And it's very likely that no one in D7 makes it to the second round.

Any time table for the return of Chayce Burton?

Corbin 7 Bryan Station 0
Gotcha, definitely a bad break for the defenders the game was looking a little promising for them.
-
Corbin 7 Bryan Station 0
Could this be a situation where Corbin didn't want to make the the 1hr+ drive back to Lex tomorrow? Which in that case wouldn't it be a forfeit on their end. I frankly don't see why the Station coaches would accept defeat in a very winnable game that would be a momentum booster for a struggling team. Also Douglass and Manuel were playing less than 10 minutes away and they paused the game with 3:34 left in the 3rd Quarter and Manuel will be making the 1hr+ back to lex tommorow for them to play the last 15ish minutes of football. Is that game only being resumed because they were tied when the postponement happened or what?

Corbin 7 Bryan Station 0
Bryan Station defense has stepped up tonight to contain Corbins Offense. Their offense has been the teams Achilles heal. QB threw a pick that gave Corbin a short field which lead to the only TD of the game. With about 45 seconds left in the game in Corbins RedZone the BS QB scrambled but then fumbled on the 5 yard line.

Should your QB play defense?
That reminds me of Oldham County's QB Sam Young from a few years ago. As a freshman he started at DB and was the back up QB, Sophmore/Junior year he was the starting QB, and would sometimes be brought in on defense, and then senior year if I'm not mistaken he was their starting QB and Safety. He went on to accept a PWO at U of L which is where he's at currently.

Should your QB play defense?
In 1998 JT Haskins (current Bryan Station HC) took the Bryan Station Defenders to the 4A state finals as the starting QB/DB, he then went on to play DB at U of L.

2025 Frederick Douglass Broncos
That is understandable but those home playoff games matter when those schools you've listed above are playing one another. For example I'm sure Mayfield would hate it if they chose to add a couple of out of state games to play better competition and it results in them having to make the 4hr+ drive to Beechwood/LCA.

Frederick Douglass Transfer
That definitely has some merit especially seeing that Douglas just lost a starter to Woodford county, BS also lost a starter to Woodford county last year. And one of my neighbors kids is a Starter for Great Crossing despite living in Lex. (Not holding anything against any of these athletes)

Frederick Douglass Transfer
It's not that the rule is a farce because if he enrolled into FD then that rule would kick in and make him ineligible, but if he enrolls into Carter G then the rule gets bypassed because Carter G is its own thing. It's just a loop hole that can easily be exploited.

Frederick Douglass Transfer
Carter G Woodson Academy is a k-12 all boy school/program. They have a building where their elementary school students attend, but they don't have a building for their Middle/Highschool students, so they've been residing in one of the wings at FD since the school opened in 2017 (if you ever go to a FD home game you can see Carter G's name and entrance facing FD's athletic facilities). The middle school students at Carter G play sports for the middle schools that their houses are districted to, while the high school students play for FD. Prior to FD opening they used to reside in Crawford Middle school. And at that point the middle school students played for Crawford while the highschool students were able to play for whatever school they were districted to. If Demond enrolls into Carter G Woodson he'll have to play sports for FD regardless of where he currently resides. I'm pretty sure this should also grant him immediate eligibility.

Frederick Douglass Transfer
Demond Green from Bryan Station just announced he'll be transferring to Frederick Douglass for his last 2 years of hs. Definitely a nice pick up for the Broncos. He currently holds offers from Miami (OH), Toledo, Kent State, Ohio, Akron, & EKU.

Open Job: Bryan Station
What possible outside candidates would be great for this job? Will Frederick Douglass being a short 10 min drive away be a potential turn off for coaches?
-
Union County 43 Belfry 21
That school is littered with athletes just look at how dominant their wrestling program has been in KY over the last 10/20 years.

Does LCA need to hire Paul Rains back to win another Title?
Rains is the OC at Western Hills currently.

Lopsided District Pairings
Now that the first round is over where all the schools were cross playing with their sister district. What district pairings were the most lopsided? In 6A, with district 7 vs 8, district 8 won all 4 match ups with an average score of 36 to 3. Were there any other districts that yielded similar result's and on the contrary were there any district pairings that yielded competitive results?

Manual 21 Male 0
Cal is really good when they're firing on all cylinders. They went 4-1 against 5A/6A schools and could've easily been 5-0 had they not blown their big lead vs Ryle. Last year on their way to a State title they were 5-0 vs 5A/6A schools. And fwiw they're 18-1 vs 5A/6A schools since 2020. I think CAL tends to get overlooked in Louisville because of the dominance of St. X and Trinity. But this year I think CAL would have a punchers chance at beating St. X.

Demauriah Brown (Boyle RB) stats
His numbers would likely look similar to his numbers at Danville his sophmore year. 192 touches for 2038 yds at 29 TDs. That was 169.8 yds/g with 10.6 yds per touch and 1 TD for roughly every 7 touches.
