Manual 21 Male 0

The Crimsons (9-1) hoist the barrel for the first time since 2013 behind a smothering defensive effort.

The Crimsons get Campbell County at home for round one, while Male (8-2) hosts Eastern.

Final per Glicod.com.

What a performance by Manual.

I don't know about the rest of you but I can't wait to see how 6A plays out.  Lots of teams in the mix.

Congrats to the Crimson on a huge win. Male injuries played a part but outstanding effort from Manual to take everything they could tonight. That defense was especially impressive.

I hope Manual wins the state championship.

Congrats to Manual.  HUGE win for them.

I simply can’t understand how CAL beat this team.

Not me. Lol.

The injuries played a huge part in this beat down.  Not to take away from Manuel’s efforts as they dominated in every aspect.  Didn’t seem like Male even got 100 yards of total offense.  Male’s QB has a mysterious injury (hand, wrist, arm???) and can obviously not throw the ball.  With the loss of RB Burton and three starting OLs out or severely hobbled, the Dawgs don’t even resemble a competitive 6A contender.  Manuel will go deep in the playoffs and maybe hoist the trophy at Kroger.  Male might win one, probably not two.

Cal is really good when they're firing on all cylinders. They went 4-1 against 5A/6A schools and could've easily been 5-0 had they not blown their big lead vs Ryle. Last year on their way to a State title they were 5-0 vs 5A/6A schools. And fwiw they're 18-1 vs 5A/6A schools since 2020. I think CAL tends to get overlooked in Louisville because of the dominance of St. X and Trinity. But this year I think CAL would have a punchers chance at beating St. X.

A lot of people in September thought the Douglass loss at Manuel in OT where the lead by two scores in the first half is not as bad a loss as were thought at that time.

Zero points from Male though? Sheesh, have to tip the cap to the Crimsons on their first shutout of the year.

If you bleed Crimson, these pictures are worth ten thousand words each, a thousand for every time Male carried the barrel off the field since the last Manual win.

Male's injury woes made Anonio Harris an easy target for Manual's defense.

Saved my fave for last. The barrel, the helmet, the crowd, the crimson haze, the jubilation, the brotherhood.... ♈️

Well done Manual!
The injuries are part of the game.
Did it effect the outcome sure, but that’s not Manuals fault.
What a win for first year Manual Coach and former Male Coach.
Go Crimsons!
