This again is a pretty tough schedule the only difference as compared to last year is they replaced the Rafferty's Bowl game with Bowling Green with another road trip to take on Highlands.

They are also scheduled a scrimmage again this year with St. X.

Great schedule, love it!

Real decent schedule right there. But I’d love to see them play a Winton Woods, Cincinnati Princeton, Cincinnati Anderson, Indy Warren Central, Indy Ben Davis, etc.

I understand.  I just think their program has moved beyond worrying about 95% of instate programs most years. I think Bowling Green, Boyle, Trinity, St X, Male, Mayfield, etc. have too.

That is understandable but those home playoff games matter when those schools you've listed above are playing one another. For example I'm sure Mayfield would hate it if they chose to add a couple of out of state games to play better competition and it results in them having to make the 4hr+ drive to Beechwood/LCA.

I am happy Douglass agreed to play Trinity for two more seasons. Their three games versus 4A competition will be beneficial in the RPI system. Is Tates Creek considered their Fayette rival?

My favorite team apparently does not have a choice. Maybe the KHSAA will adjust their version of RPI in the future. Maybe other 6A schools will have a change in their approach to scheduling…….

Douglass needs to worry about beating Trinity and Male, before scheduling out-of-state competition that will only damage RPI.

No, Bryan Station is. However, the Commodores were the only non-district FCPS team who were willing to continue playing the Broncos.

Keep in mind, none of these teams are only 8 years old. There isn't any alumni base to rely on for fundraising yet. It was great to experience that Archbishop Hoban game, however, I and others believe Douglass is best suited to schedule the best IN the state for the near future.

From today’s 8th grade signing ceremony that Douglass Football does each spring. The picture is for the incoming 2029 class. Impressive looking group. From Coach McPeek below:

Thank you to all the players, families, boosters, and coaches for making today's 8th grade signing day a huge success. These young men signed a commitment letter for our program. When a few kids are bigger than me it's a good thing LOL! Thank you David Carter for taking pictures.
