I would surprised too!  This is a good job for someone.

What coaches should be on the short list?

Didn't Coach Hawkins Coach at Apollo before Station...maybe he is going back to the Owensboro Area?

Wow!  I'm a little surprised.  But Coach Hawk is a great coach and am sure this is a decision he did not take lightly.  I've been fortunate to meet and speak with him on numerous occasions and he's one of the best I've met.  I want to wish him the absolute best in his next chapter.

And in saying that, Coach Hawk has reestablished a very good football program at Station.  GREAT opportunity for the next guy!

Good luck Coach Hawk and Bryan Station!

Killing me Coach.  Would have loved to have you back in town!!  Best of luck to you!!

Station has a guy on staff that would do a great job as the head coach. Don Miller former Western Hills coach.

Hate to see @coachhawkleave this spot, but glad he's staying in coaching.  Always like how hard his teams play and how well prepared they are.  Henry Clay has to be ecstatic right now.

Not sure if he wants it or not, but Coach Haskins would be a great hire for Station if they want to go internal.

JT Haskens (Associate Head Coach, Defensive Coordinator) would be a great hire, as would assistant coach Don Miller. I'm not sure if OL coach Andy Halloran would be interested or not, but he's a Cov Cath grad from the early 90s who has been on staff at Station for several years, and he's an absolutely great guy.

What possible outside candidates would be great for this job? Will Frederick Douglass being a short 10 min drive away be a potential turn off for coaches?

Quality Coaches often embrace big challenges. And, close geographic proximity to a powerhouse program can push other schools close by to invest in their program.

The football programs around Danville HS, especially Boyle County, are much improved over the last 5 decades and one reason is because they have had to chase the Admirals.

Any update on this one?

Will it be Haskins or Miller?

or will they go outside the program?
