Second round matchup between two teams that used to play often back in the day however have not faced in 10+ years. Lawerence county coming off a 1st round win over a Knox Central team 43-6 and the Rockets won 49-12 over Estill co. Who you riding with in this second round playoff matchup?

Lawerence county is coming off some nice defensive games over the last few weeks. Rock has proved that its offense is the real deal and highest scoring in 3A and nearly all of high school football. Rock averages 48 points per game while Lawerence is allowing only 13 per game, something has to give.

Voted Lawrence solely because I think Belfry is going to win against Bell. @RoCkMaN28 do you know if this game will be streamed anywhere? 

I voted Rock because I would love to see a Belfry/Rock matchup. If Lawrence County is anything like they have been in the past they can run the ball and control that high scoring a little. Rockcastle is little vulnerable defensively against the run. Think it will be close 31-24 Rock at home. 

Give me Lawrence. Rock's schedule catches up to them in this one.

After the way Rock defense has improved over the season and the way they are playing right now Rock is looking more and more like a team you don’t want to face in the playoffs.

Lawrence County will bring the fight with a very underrated defense. I don't look for Rock to pile on the points like they have so often this year, but I like any team with Tucker Warren at quarterback. He's really elevated his game this season.

I think the Rockets score enough to stay ahead of the Dawgs.

Here is some impressive stats for Tucker. He has had amazing career. His numbers are as follows.

Only the second player in Kentucky high school football history to have 6,000 passing yards and 3,000 rushing yards

109 career TDs that’s 67 passing 42 rushing

19 straight games with a passing td

41/42 games with at least a TD all while having a 61% completion ratio which is not common for any qb in KY to have 60+ percentage.

 

in my opinion he is worthy of player of the year but seems to be overlooked.

He got some love from the watchlist this week. This was the second appearance he's made this year. Great player, no doubt, but he's up against some studs that had a headstart on him. We'll see what the playoffs hold for him.

hard for me to believe they had a head start on him let’s go back to where he came from NL. Playing in same district as Pulaski.. Southwestern PC,  Whitley county… also played Bell 3 times has beat them twice once at NL and once this year at Rock. Beat Johnson Central last year at NL also has a win against Wayne County. Came to Rockcastle for his senior year and has single handily put us back on the map at 10-1 and district champs over Bell. Turned us from a run extremely heavy team to we spread you 5 wide and make you guard the entire field while picking teams apart and running at will. I get it there are players out there that are good but in my opinion he is just as good as any of them and his numbers don’t lie. But at least you’re putting him at the table last few weeks I just hope we keep going so he can get the true love he deserves. Here is his entire stats enjoy your night.

True freshman year started 2020 Covid year to boot. What did he do finished the season with 102/167 ..61%  for 1202 yards 11 TDs rushed for 7 TD 243 yards.

sophmore year 2021 season

133-206 65% completetion rate

1955 passing yards 19 TDs

628 rushing yards 7 rush TD

2022 season junior year

106/203 52% completion rate

1287 passing yards 10 TDs

1194 rushing yards 14 TDs
