I find your criticism in poor taste. LCA's final touchdown came when a backup running back capped off a 9 and a half minute drive where LCA ran the ball down your throat taking all the time off the clock that they could.

I watched both teams yesterday. I don't live in either area. I didn't go to either school. NewCath by at least 14. Too many big, fast MEN playing for the NCC team.

Well, you have addressed nothing. Several people I know who deal with Julien feel that he has the same attitude that you have, which fixes nothing. Just because he is now the boss doesn't mean he is right. On the one hand the officials have a very hard job. The officials get very little respect. On the other hand the officials have almost zero accountability. The small number of new officials coming into the system willing to get trained and take the heat means that many bad officials have a job because there is no one else. There needs to be a campaign by coaches to recruit more officials into the fold. One thing I have always believed in is that when the WINNING team is complaining about officials then they are bad. The WINNING team is not making excuses by blaming officials. I have heard more WINNING teams complain this year than ever before.

Coach J aren't you one of the teams that has worked with the Darin Slack stuff? It seems to be working.

Not many are. Trinity, and the Franklin system teams are taught to read progression or defenses or defenders. There are also a couple teams using the Darrin Slack quarterback system. Thats probably 10-15 in the state.

What does Britt currently coach and where? I'm not familiar with the current Mercer staff. Is he teaching there and coaching somewhere else or has he been part of the program already?

The thing I see looking from outside is that coach Warner has changed the program from the first finals appearance against Trinity. It looks to me like he has asked himself a few times " is this going to help us beat Highlands and Trinity?" It looks like the offense is different. It looks like the defense has been tweaked. I applaud that approach. I think they will give the 'rocks a better battle this time. That being said Trinity will still win.

This 2010 defense at LCA is better than the defense from last year. So yes they have a chance.

In KY you still have to earn your way into the 2nd round. When we went to 4 teams getting in the season was shortened from 11 games to 10. If we went back to the 11 game season many of those extra games would be 50-10 blowouts.

The trick is that most schools today need multiple things out of the head coach. You have to have a manager who can negotiate with administration. A politician who can smooze certain parents and keep others at bay. An accountant to handle paperwork and finances. A motivator of young men. Then last but not least a football man who teaches fundamentals and knows his x and o's.

No coach should EVER get less than 2 years. 5 is better because so much is out of the coaches control at the high school level.

The khsaa basically sets your 11th game and the real playoffs begin this week. Get over it. It is here for at least 4 more years. If you want a change talk to your coaches and AD's.

I think "Community" is the key word for Lexington. There really isn't the same feeling of community that you see at a county school.

All schools in 6A not named X or T need to look at the amount of resources, time, money, community involvement, and preparation that goes into those 2 programs. If you want to win 6A you have to be willing to match all of those areas. Some people in coaching and administrative positions are simply not willing to do what it takes. From the outside looking in it seems that coach Jackson at Ballard and coach Warner at Ryle are among those trying to do those things and stop making excuses.

I'm going to say that they lost credibility a long time ago.

If your basketball program is winning REGION and STATE championships and football is not then I say basketball school. A lot of schools that aren't winning football championships aren't winning in basketball either.
