(2A) Newport Central Catholic @ (6A) Cooper predictions
Isn't it better to schedule a local 2A school who has appeared in 8 of the last 10 state championship games than a 5A school who is perennially 4-6. That's who they may wind up playing if they leave the region. I see no problem with local big schools playing NCC and Beechwood. They are better than a lot of bigger schools around the state and you don't have to travel to do it. Apparently NCC and Beechwood have no problems with these games.

Now that's a horse of a different color. Belfry may be one of the top teams in the state regardless of class. Not saying NCC can't play with them, but they may be the best team NCC will see all year, including the playoffs.

Added to what he has coming back things are looking up.

Stop the madness i.e. Transferring
I like this the best. The only exception on guardianship would have to involve, unfortunately, the death of a parent or something of a very serious nature like that.

2016 AAU Rosters
That's a shame if they did. They competed very well with the best in the country the last several years from what I heard.

Ken Collopy named Newport Central Catholic's Head Coach
Didn't he coach at St. Henry for a while also?

State Tourney attendance lowest in years
Hell the games weren't even on the RADIO in LEXINGTON. That is ridiculous. The KHSAA doesn't seem to want to get involved in promoting the boys or girls tourney and act like it is up to someone else to do that for them. I agree with the above statement that it just doesn't seem to be as big a deal anymore. Why? I can't answer that, but it doesn't.

Newport Central Catholic 48 Trinity 33 (Sweet 16 1st Round)
Glad you clarified yourself because it did come across as a bit of a shot at the previous teams.

Newport Central Catholic 36 Bishop Brossart 30
Their problem is TRYING to knock down perimiter shots and having NO ONE (other than Hall) taking it to the hole. Penitration is the key to everything and they just don't do it.

Newport Central Catholic 69 Lexington Christian 48 (All "A" State 1st Rd.)
Hall has really been really effective attacking the basket lately, and he finishes well. This has made a big impact on their offense.

Newport Central Catholic 69 Lexington Christian 48 (All "A" State 1st Rd.)
Neff and Wrobleski have been mixed all year because whoever submits the roster for the programs have them reversed. It was the same way at several other tourneys.

Tyler Bezold college choices
I think EVERYONE would appreciate it if SC kept his personal vendetta with Wireman on a private basis. NO ONE REALLY cares to hear the tired old same thing over and over again whenever reading about NKU. Everyone is entitled to their opinion about what NKU did or didn't do in relation to Bezold, but we ALL know your opinion SC so please refrain from repeating it. Thank You

Newport Central Catholic 59 Lloyd 47
I would think they were trying to buy him more time to heal before using him. I would think he will play Friday if he can because they will need him.

Bishop Brossart 54 Paris 50 (10th Region Class A)
But I am being facetious because every time I read about a game on here people have to complain about the officials, no exceptions. Not only isn't it ALWAYS the officials fault, it is NEVER the officials fault because their admitted seldom missed calls play a very small part in the outcome of the game.

Covington Catholic 58 Newport Central Catholic 43
The point is don't blame it on the inside game.
-
Bishop Brossart 54 Paris 50 (10th Region Class A)
Not even a 10th region fan, but two things: Congratulations to Brossart It's ALWAYS the officials fault.

I think if you check the stats from the CovCath and Holmes games at Nku last year you will see McDonald had 18 points in each game and Weyer was in double figures both games so I don't think going inside was the problem in those games.

Which most won't do.

Very astitute observation. This seems to be a continuing problem for NCC in games against CCH.
-
Newport Central Catholic 82 Newport 42
That should have NO baring on the call.

Newport 37 Highlands 36
Why is he not on the team. I must have missed that.
-
Newport Central Catholic 60 Cooper 46
I think there is as much balance this year as in the past few years, the quality of the teams just isn't as good. This is the case throughout the state, however, as there seems to be no dominate team like in the past. Should be wide open.

Cordia 66 Frankfort 51
Why was he missing?
-
Lawrence County 84 Newport Central Catholic 76
Could be because they have played a lot better teams the last 2 games who have exposed their defenses weaknesses. That is also why LC shot 30 free throws. Can't give up 80+ points and win many games.

1998 Middlesboro Yellowjackets
As an aside, what has happened to Middlesboro's program. They seem to have fallen off quite a bit.
