Actually not the end of the world at all. They proved what they came down there for, and that was to see if they could play with the best, and they did. Ben Weyer had a 3 pointer rattle out at the buzzer that would have won it.

It really wasn't he press. Ballard got scalding hot from the outside with Perry hitting 3 straight 3 pointers in about a minute and a half.

They were down 11, but was still a great comeback.

It's the old story of "Potential, Potential, Potential" Skill sets mean nothing if not used day in and day out, and Spalding just doesn't do that right now. Will he ever, time will tell. Until he does he is NOT the best player in the state. Not saying McDonald is, but it's not Spalding.

Just curious what you mean by small gym. It is the same size floor as all other high school gyms. Seating capacity has nothing to do with playing conditions.

Not unfair at all. I said it this past summer and I'll say it again, he lacks the fire to be great and will never be a factor at Louisville.

Don't seem to be a big NewCath fan. Not impressed with team or McDonald. I thought they beat a really good Cooper team at their place by 11 and McDonald had 22 and about 10 rebounds. Sounds like a good night to me.

Shows the class of your program. Some people are all about beating a team as bad as they can. Congrats on your win and you have a great team.

Interesting that well over half on this list did it before the 3 point shot. Now some of them were inside players so it wouldn't have made much difference, but many weren't. Also about half of the schools no longer exist.

As the comment to your idea of not playing Wurtz indicated so does this one. Please stop trying to say who is better than who by using names. All this does is start problems. Ben does a great job, and he gets plenty of credit. Apparently someone thought differently about who played the best as the player of the game award went to McDonald. They are a TEAM, lets leave it at that.

I really think Desales is the better team and this is NOT one of NewCath's better teams, but they still made it to the championship game. So in any one game setting I think they have a "puncher chance" as they say in boxing. On the other hand it could be a 3 TD game, but I doubt it. As far as the west being better than the east it probably is true, but that isn't NCC's fault. You play the teams you are matched up with and they have beaten all of them convincingly

Don't disagree with anything said, I just think this Dixie team is a team of destiney and will beat Trinity. If they played 10 times Trinity would win more, but I just think this is Dixie's year.

Trimble's coach got all excited about the 2 point conversion thinking NCC was "running up" the score when all they were trying to do was get to a running clock. This should have been obvious. There was no intent to pour it on at all, just get the game over with as soon as possible.

My thoughts exactly. I thought this was going to be a thread about the game. But 90% of the posts are about one missed call. Hell it didn't even have an impact on the game. Can't the CovCath fans be happy with the win and the fact they are in the finals, or was winning possibly 2-0 that important. You are in for a long basketball season if one call is going to illicit this much complaining.

They won the region in 2010 but have not had another championship appearance since then. ( Unless you simply mean they were in the regional tournament ).

I don't know your situation, but the "I don't have the time" excuse is used in many public grade schools. Do you think all the coaches at a place like St. Joe's "do have the time".? No, they just make the time.
