One of the best people I've ever known and a great ref to work with. He always had control of games and was great working with players and coaches. Respected by everyone which is very difficult to do. Will miss him greatly.

Agree. As Steve Spurrier said "It's not the offense's job to hold down the score". This doesn't mean you are throwing late, but as was mentioned do you tell kids running the ball to fall down. This is an annual first problem.

I am looking at the big picture. I'm being realistic. First of all, how would the kids form the inner city get to Alexandria? Also as mentioned the diocese is committed to inner city schools and it's not like NCC is on it's last legs. Their GYM is the same age as CovCath's, which doesn't seem like a problem for them, and it is considably bigger than Brossart's. So the gym isn't a problem. Playing at Newport's stadium has worked for over 75 years and it is a great facility. Their football teams have had great success playing there. This isn't a knock at all on Brossart's moving forward with their facility. Great for them. But don't be acting like NCC is on it's way out. By the way, Boone County does have a Catholic high school. St. Henry is officially called St. Henry District High School and is located in BOONE COUNTY. I'll stick with my original statement that their won't be a merger.

Don't see merger because neither school is located in an area where kids from one school would ever travel to the other location. You would NEVER get most of kids from NCC to travel south to Brossart, and that would leave most of county without a parocial school. Won't happen. And obviously the majority of the southern county kids will stay at Brossart. Sure a merger might create a powerful school athletically, but it wouldn't happen because the kids WON"T come to either one. Just leave everyone alone and things will be fine.

He isn't the only "steal" NKU has got in the past several years. Congratulations. Great place to play.

He also had a niece play at Eastern, one at NKU, and another at So. ILL. Edwardsville right now.

She does so many things well most people don't notice it. The hitters really benefit from her sets, and she can hammer the ball when hitting.

NCC will be a work in progress. Have to develop some hitters to go along with setter Mikah Freppon.

I remember it was on Friday night and open only to Ft. Thomas residents. BUT, an outsider could get in if they could a resident to "get you in" by going in with you. I think the cost was a quarter. Good times.

What did these players do last year that makes you think they will help NewCath this year?

They wouldn't be recruiting him if they didn't think he could play there. They are not going to waste a scholarship on someone they don't think will help them, maybe not immediately but sometime down the line. Remember not a lot of players come to a D1 program and help "immediately".

Dale was the consumate announcer. He told you what was happening and didn't inject his personal thoughts and opinions. Always great with the kids, coaches, refs, and everyone involved with the game. Great guy.

Never count NewCath out of the top five in 2A. They seem to find a way.

Obviously has many choices, but I don't know why Nebraska or Iowa would fit in unless they have an academic major he is interested in.

I read the other day that Carr Creek,1956, is the smallest high school to win the KHSAA basketball title. I was wondering if anyone knew this for sure? I know Cuba and Brewers won in the late 40's and they had to be small schools. Any thoughts?

That's an incredibly tough pre-district schedule.

Would think you would have Notre Dame on list before several of the NKY teams.

Agree completely. It's just SO much is made when a kid transfers and everyone gets all upset, that I presume the KHSAA figures they would never be able to determine the true reason for the transfer. The whole thing is ridiculous.
