  1. Everybody is entitled to a mistake every now and then. Ha, Ha. Just hope they keep it up.
  2. My point is this. You said NCC needs a consistent 3rd scorer, and I'm saying they ALREADY have a consistent 3rd scorer. Nothing more, nothing less. If McDaniel did become a real factor he would a 4th scorer. By saying they need a 3rd scorer I feel like you are overlooking what the centers are doing. Over 17 points a game IS a consistent scorer. That's my only point.
  3. And you know this why? Between the 3 centers, who NEVER have 2 playing at the same time, why I don't know, they are averaging 17.6 points and 12.2 rbs a game. I don't think there are many teams in NKy who has a combo at that position that averages a double/double like this. This is not a knock on McDaniel at all, but they HAVE a very good third scorer/rebounder already. McDaniel could become the 4th scorer, but too many people are not recognizing what this trio is contributing. I think it could be increased by playing more than one at a time. What have they got to lose by trying it.
  4. No question he made a huge difference last night. He brought the toughness NCC needed.
  5. Not a Highlands person so this is completely unbiased, but I have seen this before and it really burns me when it happens. Don't know any of the details, but If you keep the kid then play him if he deserves to. Obviously if he played a lot last year see no reason he shouldn't play this year because it's not like Highlands is light years better this year. Otherwise explain to him why he isn't playing and let him make the decision if he wants to stay or not.
  6. Not denying what you said about McDanial, but their 3rd scorer is their combination that plays center. Had 15 points from them tonight. Game in and game out it is almost always at least this much.
  7. If there is an odd number of "jump balls" in a game the winner of the jump ball gets an extra possession.
  8. Last night NCC got almost half its points and the vast majority of the rebounds from the center combo of Henchen, Wurtz and Luken, yet not once did 2 of them appear on the floor at the same time. I find it hard to believe with this kind of production and the team only scoring 59 points why 2 of these 3 can't play at the same time. It's not like Wurtz and Luken have to be under the basket to score. They both have nice perimeter shots. It seems like such a waste to see 2 of the 3 on the bench all the time.
  9. Seating wasn't bad but parking is terrible.
  10. He has great post moves and can use either hand. I'd like to see him used more in the post like they did with his cousin, Drew McDonald. I don't think it's a coincidence they both have the same kind of moves, can use either hand, and are good passers. Maybe if the ball went inside more instead of bombing 3's they might get better looks going inside out.
  11. He certainly should. The purpose of a JV team is to prepare kids for the varsity. Sometimes I see too much emphasis on winning at the Frosh and JV level as opposed to developing players. Therefore some kids are slighted.
  12. Certainly agree with your comment that some kids are coronated as future stars WAY too soon, and others are cast aside WAY too soon. Have seen it happen many times. I think this puts a lot of pressure on the kids called up to perform, and discourages the kids left behind who may have developed given the chance.

  14. Better that they see the handwritting on the wall now rather than spend a lot of practice time all winter knowing they aren't going to play, now or in the future. It relieves the coaches of the burden of having to cut them next year, and allows underclassmen to get more experience now.
  15. Agree. Nothing good can come out of players being on here. Just as I tell kids that nothing good happens after midnight.
  16. I never said his actions changed the momentum of the game. I never said he wasn't a good kid who plays hard. I never said he didn't have a good game. I DID say the technical was deserved.
  17. They might not have shut him down, but his actions caused the technical that you feel took the momentum from his team. It's not about HIM, it's about the TEAM.
  18. Saw the player in question say something directed toward a Campbell Co. player. Point is don't direct anything AT another player. Anything that is intended to show-up another player or an official is considered unsportmanlike. Does it happen and nothing is calles? Yes it does, but that's because an official didn't see it or "missed the call" by not calling it. This is preventive officiating and keeps games from getting "chippy'. Point is, it IS a violation whether it is called all the time or not.
  19. SPOT ON. There is NEVER a reason for a player to say anything to an opposing player. The people complaining about thr "T"s are likely the same ones who complain the refs let the game get out of control. Just shut up and play.

  21. NCC only had 2 players in double figures with Hall having probably at least 30 and Wurtz about 15 and 10 rebounds. Not a lot from anyone else.
