NewCath took a quick lead,but Campbell responded and went ahead for good mid-1st quarter. Camels really didn't shoot it all that well, but each time NCC would get within striking distance, they'd put together a run to push the lead back out to double digits.

Wow! I'm a little surprised by this. Doesn't get easier for NewCath. Making the trip down I-75 Tuesday to play Scott County.

NCC only had 2 players in double figures with Hall having probably at least 30 and Wurtz about 15 and 10 rebounds. Not a lot from anyone else.

The Camels took on the Thoroughbreds at the annual John Turner Classic at Newport High School. The Breds came out of the gate with 8 quick points but Campbell County rebounded by taking a 17-11 lead after the first quarter. Offensively the Camels continued to hit shots with Senior Cole Hegyi and Senior Garren Bertsch combining for 12 of the teams 18 points in the second quarter. Campbell County went into the locker room with a 35-26 lead over NewCath. In the third quarter, Bertsch continued his offensive domination by adding 11 points including going 3 for 3 from the free throw line. NewCath came back with strong defense in the 4th quarter but the Camels proved to be to much.

 

Bertsch lead all scorers with a game high 31 points. Cole Hegyi also added 23 points. NewCath was lead by guard Brennan Hall with 26 points.

Very nice game cc was up 49-31 and NCC cut the game to 5 or 6 when the ref called a technical foul on the Hall kid for yelling lets go after a nice drive to the hole. Change the moment and the game. I hate when the refs have that kind of control over a game.

Hall yelled "Let's go" right in Bertsch's face. That's taunting and an easy call for the ref to make.

Where was this Campbell County at against Bracken's County?

I see the stats but where is the Jefferson kid from NCC? I was expecting big things. He owned this site during the summer.

Same official called the 2 technical fouls against Pendleton on Friday night. One because the kid shook his head at the official.
