Asking the coach or the player who got T'd up what happened is not going to give you an objective answer either. And there's always those rose-colored glasses that most fans have on that make what they see on the court just a little blurry.

Of course that would be your response but didn't just ask the player and the coach. If you don't think some refs have short fuses guess those rose-colored glasses go both ways.

:lol2: Hardly. I've seen some bad refs for sure. I've just seen worse fans. Don't worry though; it's not limited to NCC fans.

There are good refs that's for sure, but I have seen some terrible ones that continue to be bad. We ask players and coaches to get better and keep their emotions in check and I think the same thing should apply to the refs but year in and year out the same ones never change and that's a shame.

 

I am just bringing up a few incidents and I know the refs have a tough job so no one is perfect.

I totally agree with you. The same bad ones get picked for regional and state games every year as well - in every region. The only way to get rid of bad refs is to bring new refs into the organizations. Nobody wants to step up and do the job though; they just want to complain about the ones that are there now.

Some refs work on their craft and some are just there to collect the check.

 

I agree that no one wants to do it and we are stuck with what we get.

This is on the coaches....they have the ability to rate officials, every year, as well as a phone number / email to those officials assignors if they have concerns. If they are really concerned, they can go to BOC about it....

 

To my point, fans are almost always way more concerned about officials than coaches are, or the coaches are not using the conduit provided them for their concerns.

Same official called the 2 technical fouls against Pendleton on Friday night. One because the kid shook his head at the official.

 

I don't now why this individual calls games. He does not seem to enjoy officiating. I base my last statement on seeing him multiple times through the years when he called middle school games.

The life lesson to be learned is to not run your mouth; just play your game.

In fairness, some middle school games are way more brutal than most high school games, so I can understand some of that maybe...on the other hand, I also know some who fit this bill to a "T" ...:clap:
