That just shouldn't happen. The trainer has sole control as to whether a player can play. If proper channels were followed and he had a concussion he should not have played. Question is at the high school level does a trainer really have the clout to rule a player out?

I really would have liked to see him get the ball more to try and prove it. Unfortunately it's March.

So you are saying the refs SHOULDN'T call a foul at the end and make the player make the shot even if he is fouled. That's an interesting concept. If that's the case, the refs should leave the floor in the last 8 seconds and what happens, happens. A ridiculous theory. A foul is a foul is a foul, whenever it happens. Too many officials DO swallow their whistles at the end because they don't want people saying they "decided" the game. They decide the game just as much when they don't make the call. The players still decide the game when they foul, not the official.

Absolutely DID NOT travel, but can't tell from that if there was a foul. Completely impartial observation.

I thought both teams, but especially NCC, took some awful shots that had NO chance of going in. Their shot selection must improve to have a chance to do anything in the regional.

Newport had no timeouts left and couldn't stop the clock so they batted the ball to the corner and the official blew his whistle which stopped the clock. It should have been a technical foul for delay of game, or the official could have let the clock run out without starting a 5 second count on NCC because they didn't have the ball at their disposal. The last thing that should have happened was the officials talked and gave Newport exactly what they wanted which was a stopped clock. Fortunately it had no baring on the game, but it was a completely blown call at a critical time. Oldtimers may recall Patrick Ewing doing basically the same thing in a college game a long tome ago, which led to the clock stopping now after a made field goal in the last minute in college games. No such rule in high school.

When are the boys and girls tourneys?

I think NAIA schools do indeed give athletic scholarships where money is included for playing a sport. In this case I see no difference than D1 or D11 schools. As long as the kid is actually getting financial aid for playing it is an "athleitic scholarship". Agree with you on D3 "signings". No money, no scholarship.

It appears the rotation won't include 2 of the bigs at the same time. Would be interesting to see it.

No one is implying other coaches don't use foul language, but most don't do it loud enough to be heard by the fans, and hardly EVER is the "F" word used. And I have been around a LOT of games.

Quite frankly, with their recent success has come some obnoxious actions under the mantle of "We can do it because we are good." Haven't made any friends in the NKY community.

Certainly not the first time he has made the program look REALLY bad. Obviously the school doesn't see this as a problem.

Just a thought and not saying top 10 but after reading all these names would the second leading career scorer and leading career rebounder from a school like NewCath be in the talk?

The ALL A is not trying to support a lot of people who probably don't do much, so they can pour the money back to the kids, and make things first class. Everything considered, it is a better tournament than the State tourney.
