Burries reminds of James Bolden with his ability to pull up from anywhere on the floor, and with a hand in his face, drain the shot.

Newport's ability to run the floor could give a district winner some problems on the BB&T floor next week.

Crazy game. NCC goes up early, Newport fights their way back. Seemed to go that way most of the game. Any clue what happened at the end of the game? Never seen that before?

Newport had no timeouts left and couldn't stop the clock so they batted the ball to the corner and the official blew his whistle which stopped the clock. It should have been a technical foul for delay of game, or the official could have let the clock run out without starting a 5 second count on NCC because they didn't have the ball at their disposal. The last thing that should have happened was the officials talked and gave Newport exactly what they wanted which was a stopped clock. Fortunately it had no baring on the game, but it was a completely blown call at a critical time. Oldtimers may recall Patrick Ewing doing basically the same thing in a college game a long tome ago, which led to the clock stopping now after a made field goal in the last minute in college games. No such rule in high school.

I guess it was strange because the kid did it twice before the ref blew the whistle. I think it at 8 seconds and ended next to any time left.

Imagine that. Saw plenty of that tonight.

I thought both teams, but especially NCC, took some awful shots that had NO chance of going in. Their shot selection must improve to have a chance to do anything in the regional.
