Region Tournament Officials Swap
This post shows your complete lack of understanding of how officials work.

Newport Central Catholic at Trinity 2/18/14
If you do please keep us informed. Thanks.

Tallest Players in NKY History?
Don't believe Cowens was ever 6'8, even in the pros, but certainly not in high school.

9th Region POY Battle
That's EXACTLY when you find out how valuable a player is.

Newport Central Catholic 72 Holmes 57
I agree about naming the player, but if you follow the thread from the beginning it was Holmes fans who brought the subject up in the first place. It should have never been mentioned, but if the homers are going to complain it opens the door for the every one else. Enough has been said about it. Let it go, it is detracting from the game.

Doesn't have to be diricted AT an official. You don't use that kind of language on the floor and not get T'd up.

Question for you NKY folks
They are different because the KHSAA, the body assigned the task of determining whether transfer are within the rules, deemed NCC's transfer perfectly legal and the ones at Cordia NOT. That is a big difference.

Injunctive Release Issued today in Franklin County Court against the KHSAA
NCC didn't need a court injunction for theirs. KHSAA had no problem with it. There is a difference.

Highlands 43 Newport Central Catholic 38 (Frosh)
Luke played all/most of the game but didn't score.

NCC does not charge $125. It is $75 a year that covers all sports, so I don't think coaches keep kids for the money.

I think Freppon with 10 points was NCC's leading scorer.

All-A Tournament January 30-February 2
Losing Jennings really hurts Brossart. It is a shame it had to happen now.

Alex Trentman Joins the 1,000 Point Club
Good job, very nice player.

Newport 78 Covington Latin 10 (9th Region All "A")
When did St. Mary first field a team? I know they had teams in the late 50's.

Should private schools be a part of the K.H.S.A.A.
Based on this then it seems that most of the "teams" like the new set up better. It could be that the "Fans" like the old way better. IMO the tourney is for the kids, not the adults.

9th Region...Who has the bragging rights?
Good info. Those 3 combined are easily the highest 3 from any region.

Excuse me, but you DID say you "Don't have anything to gain". As far as playing stiff competition you obviously haven't looked at NCC's schedule this year. Plus it is up to the school to determine where they have more to gain. Also, since when does winning any tournament TWICE make it not worthwhile.

Agree completely. The quality of play in this tourney is outstanding, and many "ranked" teams regularly play in it. It is also ridiculous to say any school "doesn't have anything to gain" from playing in it. THis type of talk comes from people who haven't experienced the competition of this tournament. Incidentally, the tourney has been held in Frankfort for several years now, not at EKU.

Why can't you say both. They aren't mutually exclusively.

Tell you what. How about teams like NCC only play in the ALL A when they aren't very good. Will this make you happy. By the way, how do you not want to open "that can of worms" about transfer yet you mention it anyway. You must be a politician the way you twist words to suit your situation.

I would think they would agree to count their meeting during the ALL A regional ( which often happens ) as the conference game.

There have been years when St. Henry has advanced and needed the same favor.

I don't disagree at all, but realalistically do you think kids from small to medium schools are not smart enought to realize they have little to no chance to win a state basketball championship. That's all I am trying to say. I know the KHSAA will most probably never change the sweet 16 set up unless a viable lawsuit were filed, and that won't happen as long as the smaller schools continue to have the ALL A. I'm sure the KHSAA are happy as hell this tournament is held each year. They don't have to be involved and it takes a lot of pressure off of them about classification. I'm not advocating going to classes in basketball. I'm just saying it could be done without a lot of trouble. I guess I'm also a little defensive when people dismiss the ALL A as not a big deal and of no consequence.

To answer your questions, I have projected them to advance to the finals of the ALL A. This is the only way you can do it. This is not to dismiss the real possiblity they won't make it that far, but if they don't they just don't get to play 30 games this year. The reciprical agreement could be with a team like St. Henry whereby if either team advances and needs to drop a game the other school agrees in advance to let them out Understand I have NO inside information on this, just a guess.
