  1. Knott Central not eligible for the All A this year because of size of school.
  2. Is there a concern that Bolden and Chames scored all but 13 of Holmes points?
  3. Probably some of both. You must remember with a school of 360 students it's tough to match depth with the likes of Ballard and PRP, or any school that big. It's still December, maybe Franzen can help when his hand is better.
  4. According to the boxscore they only had 11 turnovers to PRP's 9, so that wouldn't seem a real problem.
  5. Ballards 3 pt shooting was the difference. They shot 20% and 23% in their first 2 games and 46% last night. Martin had been 1-6 and then goes 6-10 and Kovacevic had been 1-11 and goes 3-5. Really not a lot NCC could do when many of the shots were from 20+ feet. Ncc handled the pressure fine, only turning it over 14 times and had many layups against the press. Snider is the real deal. Best I have seen without a doubt. Can not only score but sees the floor extremely well and a great passer. Very unselfish.
  6. That's a shame. Very nice kid, and hard worker. (Does he have a choice?)
  7. You make excellent points. I have said forever that depth is vastly over rated in high school, barring extended injuries. Also agree that McDonald does so many other things besides scoring that the casual fan doesn't notice. It is a lot easier to run the break when you big man can rebound , spin out, and lead the break. He is a great passer and really sees the floor well.
  8. By Jan. 1 after all the holiday tournaments things will be a lot clearer. Until then, who knows.
  9. Thought Cordia was supposed to know about eligibility of players Thursday? Won't make ant difference, Holmes still wins.
  10. Beats a blind draw. I'm sure this happens all over the state.
  11. Thank you. The game should have been called like this all along. Everyone knows to keep your hands off people, so do it or it's a foul. Like you said players have forgotten, or never were taught, to move their feet Tired already of people blaming refs.
  12. If you are going to mention it, then explain yourself somewhat. Also, why didn't the 3 players play?
  13. Actually should make them BETTER. Correct form and practice with concetration enhance free throw shooting. Not many kids want to do this , from high school to the colleges, who are just as bad. I can't believe the shooting form some players have. Don't coaches see this or do they just not know the proper form to shoot. It is pitiful at times in high school and college.
  14. Must realize this isn't all on the officials. They are only doing as instructed. What happened in the past is that players were getting away with murder using their hands to "control" their opponents. The KHSAA decided to correct this and the pendulam has swung back the other way. I think if people are patient the players AND officials will adjust and meet in the middle and by mid year the product will be better than now AND what it had grown to be. Let's don't be Chicken Little and cry the sky is falling. Be patient and let it work it's self out.
  15. Will this game be streamed on the internet. If so, does anyone have the link?
  16. I really didn't think it would be that bad, but you had it right, almost. It was 11 popints MORE than you thought. NCC was unstopable.
  17. That a bit high. Dixie is a good team. Eight would be more like it
  18. He gets down the court faster than most people think. He wil not hinder their running in the least.
  19. I guess we will find out if the coaches who had NCC down on the list are right tonight.
  20. First of all, what is a middle school team doing with 16 kids on one team. Two teams of 8 would be MUCH better, even if they weren't that good. You can't do justice to 16 kids playing 6 minutes quarters no matter what you do. Secondly, winning at the middle school level is not a priority, it is used to prepare kids for later years. With that said there is NO justification for bringing 2 sixth graders up. Now you have 18 kids to deal with. I don't care how much better it makes the team. That is irrelevant. You only bring kids up from a lower level when there are not adequate numbers on the higher grade team. This is a no brainer in my opinion.
