DII matchup in Covington Tuesday night.

Who wins and why?

Can Holmes handle the Burns/Trentman duo inside?

Can Brossart handle the athleticism and length of Chames/HIll inside?

Can Brossart handle Holmes' quickness and pressure at both ends?

Will Holmes be able to execute in the halfcourt agaisnt Brossart's physical D?

Great early season tilt that I expect Holmes to win, but not without some heartburn provided by the Mustangs along the way. Should be a great atmosphere, but since I don't think anyone one on Brossart can stay in front of Bolden, the Bulldogs ultimately win by 7-10.

Chames will have his hands full with the Brossart boys in the paint, that will be a great match-up within the match-up.

Agree, would love to see this matchup. All the respect to Holmes and the 9th region, but got to go with my 10th region team in a mild upset.

I also added a poll.

Pretty much how I see it. I like upsets as much as anyone, but I'll say it'll be something along the lines of Holmes 72 Brossart 63.

Could be a dandy game. I plan to be there. Biggest question for me is whether Holmes can continue to dominate defensively against a talented BB team. This could be a very special Holmes team this year. We will know more at 10 p.m. Tuesday.

I think Holmes probably wins, but would Brossart winning really be an upset?

I believe so, especially with it being at Holmes.

I see it as the best two teams in NKY playing. While Holmes is probably the favorite, I wouldn't be at all surprised if Brossart won.

I think NewCath is the top team in NKY.

If it was in Alexandria I wouldn't be surprised if Brossart won.

Holmes is widely regarded as a top 5-10 team in the state depending on which poll you look at.

Yes, Brossart winning would be a mild upset.

The two best teams in NKY play 2/14/14........nothing against Brossart as I think they are a top 20 team in the state and have some very talented kids but Holmes and Newcath are the two best teams that NKY has to offer.

Trentman and Burns will be too much for Hill and Chames. Should be very close.

Trentman- 21 ppg, 10.3 rpg, shooting 69.7% from the floor.

Burns- 20 ppg, 8 rpg, shooting 75% from the floor

Jennings- 6 assists per game, 1 turnover per game

If the 5 starters for both teams could stay on the floor the entire game it would be very close. However Brossart isn't very deep and foul trouble will be their demise. Jennings is really the only guard they have to stay with Bolden and I don't see him being able to do it without accumulating fouls. Also Brossart twin towers are very good but once they go out size becomes a huge issue for Brossart . Stays close awhile but Holmes will coast to a 15+ point win before it's over. The new way of calling the game with lots of extra fouls will do no favors for Brossart either
