Accidentally voted NCC, but meant to vote DeSales.

I think this is the matchup many would have predicted at the beginning of the year. Not all, as Caldwell was getting a lot of love - but many.

Got to cheer for the Breds. They need to really work on pass D and tackling this week if that want 3 rings in the past 4 years.

I have thought since about midseason that Desales was the best 2A team in the state and I still think it to be so

Saw them play several times this year, and I know that NewCath is a perennial power, but I have seen a lot of football over the years and would be thoroughly surprised if they stayed anywhere close to DeSales. Colts are really, really good.

Desales manhandled a pretty solid Murray team on the road. I don't think Murray was near as good as Caldwell and I would have loved to have seen a Desales/Caldwell matchup, but, most likely, the result would have been the same. Caldwell would have at least scored a few points. Sounds like NCC got out of tonights game by the skin of there teeth, but, doesn't matter how you get there, as long as you get there. I think NCCs experience at playing in this game will be to there advantage, but, I think Desales may be a little too strong for the Breds when all's said and done. I think it'll be a 28-14 type game.

I just hope DeSales CAN'T pass the ball.

That being said, the Breds are on a roll........lets make 3 out 4 titles boys. :ylsuper:

Surely you don't really believe this. DeSales flat manhandled Murray tonight, but to think a matchup with Caldwell would have led to a blowout win for the Colts is absurd. Of course either response will have a never know answer. Caldwell flat got out coached last week. Murray got beat at their own game this week. DeSales strength lays in their runnung game. Passing game is about average. Definately the hot team right now though in 2A. I thought all year that DeSales and Caldwell were two of the top four teams in 2A. CAL would be the other with NCC a respectable 4th team. I would have loved a Caldwell and DeSales matchup. It was not to be. The Colts are definitely the favorite going into Saturday.

Is NewCath ever the favorite heading into a state final? No, but they are always there. Last year was the first time that they were favored that I can recall. Don't have to be the best, just the best for 48 minutes.

I love it when teams fly under the radar, NCC you may want to hand this trophy to them before the game starts. I hope they DeSales continues to think they are better they must be good or they would not be there. There is a reason why they play the games. I will stick with NewCath as I have all year with the schedule they play each and every year they get better by year end. Good Luck NewCath and bring it back to NKY. JD

I just wanted to jump on this thread and give a hearty CONGRATULATIONS to Danny "Daddy Wags" Wagner for an excellent job this year! And also to wish NCC the best of luck in bringing back another SC to the "hill"!
