I really don't think many, if any, refs scratch NCC. Refs usually scratch teamd because of coaches, not fans. Some people don't realize it but good refs tune out the fans.

Sorry to spoil your fun, but my post has nothing to do with PCC or anyone else in that area. Just a statement of fact. ALL illegal transfer should be ineligible, be they in Eastern Ky. Louisville, NKY or anywhere else.

Don't they take crews for the games like they used to. If they put 5 guys together that haven't worked together I can see where they would have problems.

With that being said IF the transfer aren't legitimate NONE of these players should be eligible. That's the rub most people on here have. It ISN'T just Cordia. Any school should be invistigated if they have illegal transfers. The thing with Cordia is the NUMBER of kids they have brought in and WHERE they have come from that jumps out at people.

Joker, for a Moderator it would be a hell of a lot easier to understand what you are trying to say if you didn't use sentences that are 50-60 words long. Sometimes I think you get so caught up in what you are saying that you forget punctuation.

Schools with less than 400 students are seldom going to go 11 deep. My point is their bench isn't that bad, in fact better than most.

Their bench will be fine. Way to much emphasis put on bench strength. How many actual premium minutes do bench players get? They will have Moeves/Weyer(whichever one doesn't start), and Verkamp. Either one of these kids could start on most teams in the region. The other Moves can swing out to the point guard when necessary, and Franzen will come after football. Also, Rawe, Freppon and Smith can give spop minutes without hurting the team.

Each team gets a certain number of All Tourney players depending on how far they advance in the tourney. Each team's coaches pick who they want on the team from their own team. There is no voting or consenses.

You seem to have a real problem with this. I don't think "extortion" is inviolved. Could it be the schools just have a great relationship and try to accomodate each other when asked? Lighten up.

I can tell you why. Years ago Notre Dame dropped NCC from their schedule because they said they needed to play more outside big schools to prepare for the state tournament. This was probably 25 years ago at least and none of the coaches involved are still around, but I can say for certain this is what happened because I had daughters playing at the time and was very close to the situation. NDA also dropped out of the Catholic School Tournament they used to have for NKY parocial schools for the same reason.

These are obvious exceptions. Let's don't be ridiculous about this.

Joker , check your statement in post 28. You said it is fine to have all-star teams from all over the COUNTRY compete in rural areas because some big cities IN KENTUCKY do it. No double standard at all. As long as kids are from Ky. makes no difference where they live.

I probably didn't express it correctly. What I mean is that if a student isn't a bona fide citizen of Ky. they should not be eligible. NO problem at all with families moving into state and the kids being eligible immediately. Just a problem with kids who are not citizens of Ky. playing for ky teams.

Thank you for this response. The people defending Cordia sound like politicians coming up with all kind of excuses that what they are doing is fine. How in the world is it justified because Cordia is in a rural area whereas Lexington, Louisville, etc are bigger areas. Tell the KHSAA to go to a class system. And how absurd to say an all star team made up of kids from all over the country should be allowed because the bigger areas in the state do this. This is becoming like banging your head againest the wall. Almost everyone on here sees what is happening, and as was mentioned all people want is the matter looked into and given a thumbs up or down. The whole situation is ridiculous and anyone who thinks otherwise is totally naive.

To your first point: They are essentially an all-star team made up of kids from a number of different states, countries. competing againest Ky. kids from one locale. This is fair? To your second point: No, I have never spent a day in an inner city school in Houston or Toronto. I have NO problem with kids coming from these types of environments to get a better education; however if they choose to come from out of state to do this they schould not be eligible to play in Kentucky. If they want to play, find a better school in their own state. And don't tell me there aren't any schools like this in Texas, Canada,etc. It's simple; If you choose to leave your state for another school you forfit your right to play in that state's organization. This goes for kids from Indiana playing in Louisville, or any other similar situation. As to your third point: Are you insinuating private schools should only educate kids who fit their "demograpics'? Only rich kids need apply? Diversity has been at the heart of school systems for decades, dare we go back on this? Yes I'm sure they are invited informally to attend, BUT, and I will make this point AGAIN, if they are from out of state they should not be eligible to participate in KHSAA activities. If you honestly can't see the difference between a student from the neighboring school system transfering in to a different school and kids from hundreds of miles away doing the same thing you are either naive beyond believabability (which I seriously doubt) or you just don't care to see trees for the forest.

I have stated this before and think it would solve all these problems. No student should be allowed to participate in KHSAA sports unless they are a legitimate citizen of the state of Kentucky. Period. No exceptions. Kids can still attend Kentucky schools from other states if they feel the education offered by that shool offers opportunities not present where they live. There is a lot to be said for kids getting away from the "bad elements" where they live and learning in an atmosphere such as Cordia offers. But for a team to have players from various states participate against schools comprised of all "local" kids just isn't right. There will always be transfers within an area of the state, but expanding this to a national level crosses the line. I'm not arguing the current "rules" as they seem so ambiguous you could argue either side and seem to be right. But I seriously doubt any of the out of state players at Cordia came there because of the educational opportunities. As far as private schools having open houses to attract students, that is exactly what they do. But I doubt serioisly Cordia had an open house and kids from Canada, Miss., etc just dropped in to see what they had to offer. These kids were "recruited" for their basketball ability, just as colleges recruit players. That is a big difference.
