Final from KOB.

It is pretty obvious the Breds can play with anybody in the state. What is their main problem in not sustaining their pretty healthy leads, conditioning, adjustments, depth, losing focus? All of these can be fixed except depth IMO. Did the Bruins and Panthers go a lot deeper on their rosters?

3rd place game.

Wasn't there so I really can't comment, however two nights in a row giving up big leads........can't do that against teams of this caliber.

On a positive note, very nice showing by the Breds, now you know what you have to work on to prepare come tourney time. The NewCath faithfully are still proud of your efforts. :thumb:

I thought NCC would win. This game apparently took a similar tack as the Ballard-NCC game in that NCC could not hold on to a first-half lead. Congratulations to both teams.

Congrats to Jake Schulte and Drew McDonald on being named to the All-Tourney team. :dancingpa

NCC looked dominant in the first two and a half quarters. They were getting any and everything they wanted in the paint. PRP turned up the pressure and made their run to come back. NCC was up by as much as 13, maybe more.

I know very few teams in the state can pressure like PRP and Ballard, so in a half court game they will be tough to beat. Did they just start turning it over? Was it fullcourt pressure or extended half court?

......

Many of us have said how awesome NewCath is 1-6, but they lack quality depth. Are the last two games evidence of that or simply indicative a good team getting beat by a better one (on that night)? Wasn't there, so simply asking the question. Seems to, from a distance, fit the narrative of a very short bench.

According to the boxscore they only had 11 turnovers to PRP's 9, so that wouldn't seem a real problem.

They didn't really turn it over much, I think the pressure just caused them to force shots. They were getting bunnies in the 1st half.

Probably some of both. You must remember with a school of 360 students it's tough to match depth with the likes of Ballard and PRP, or any school that big. It's still December, maybe Franzen can help when his hand is better.

PRP was preseason #2....Despite the early season struggles, a game like this proves why they held such a lofty ranking and the type of potential they have. Lamontray Harris finished with 30 pts, 6 rbs, 6 ast. Antonio McDaniels finished with 26 pts, 4 ast.

Newcath will get better from these past two games. Great early season learning experience. The good thing for them is they have the opportunity to possibly meet PRP again next week end for revenge. I plan on being there if they do meet again. McDonald had what was probably his best all around game of his career with 17 pts, 9 rbs, 6 ast.

Franzen's hand is fine, it's his ankle that is keeping him out of the game for now.
