Goal was a Kenney header off of a Litzler cross.....

 

Congrats CCH .....well played game by NCC...congrats on a great season....

The best team won this game but not without some hiccups. The sputtering CCH offense missed some chances but the Colonel defense made their single goal stand up. For a defense that has a single (2nd team) all N. Ky selection they did pretty well shutting down a team that scored 6 goals against Cooper. Throw-ins, corners and free kicks were the main NCC threat and those were all well defended for the most part. Hopefully they can keep their level of play up one more game at least.

 

Parker Kenney won a ton of balls in the middle in addition to getting on the end of a Jacob Litzler cross to deposit a header in the goal about 12 minutes into the game. Man of the Match in my opinion.

 

Clean game for the most part although it was pretty physical. A couple of yellow cards on each side if I counted right. A third was issued to the CCH coaching staff after the center ref (who needs to retire) missed an obvious handling call in the first half that the entire stadium saw and knew should have been a PK for CCH. I'll stop there for now but it was pathetic.

NCC is well coached and their throw ins and set plays are the best we have seen all year.

 

Keep your head up and congrats to the NCC seniors for a great career. Your last game was played extremely well.

Did someone earlier today mention something (in a different thread) about the ref blowing a call (handling, in the box) that may change the game, how "silly". Fortunately for CCH it did not cost them the game tonight. Two different styles of play tonight, both teams well coached, well played game by all!

The handling in question was not called handling by a gentlemen I happened to be standing by. Turns out he is a ref and works for CCH .

Didn't you just make a comment on another thread that said you never question a ref in the right position? How about one that admits he wasn't and wasn't willing to make a game changing call because of it?

OTBB84, you're just a bit wrong, the AR on the spectators side was "blocked and couldn't see it" also? What a joke only two people in the entire complex were "blocked"?Yea OK it happens maybe the center did miss it, but no excuss for both of them missing. Common sense says the AR saw it but was afraid to call it.

I didn't think it was handling and to the uninformed here is the reason.

 

12.A.9 Handling the Ball A handling offense should not be called if: • the ball moves to the hand. • the ball strikes the hand unexpectedly.

I had the pleasure to watch this game tonight, Cch had way more chances than Ncc. Ncc looked like they were panicking at times. In my opinion cch controlled the match and imposed their game on the thoroughbreds, it seemed as if Ncc couldn't get a hold of the ball and possess. Well played game by the colonels and good luck against the Cru.

Great season by Ncc, the seniors that are leaving have left a mark on that program that will never be forgotten. Best wishes to them as they move on.......

It is ironic that this came into play in this game. Had I known who was going to be the center ref I may not have so easily dismissed the theory. The handling was obvious, the arm was away from the body and it stopped dead a give and go pass right in front of the goal. We don't need to debate it all day. Everyone knew it was handling and the AR was too wobbly in the knees to make the call as well. Game is over and it didn't change the outcome fortunately.
