Did you mean a couple hundred of the CCH faithful saw it as handling?, What do think the NCC faithful saw just asking...

Well, I had said all I was going to say about this but the NCC people will have to weigh in on what they saw. Everyone saw it but let's move on. Game was well played although I am still disappointed in the lack of finishing by CCH as well as the dumb fouls that certain players on their team commit in their own defensive third. It's very selfish/dumb on their part.

Why do we once again let a ref have control over our threads? Was it a handball? Is he a bad ref? Was the card to the coach justified? Who cares, did you guts watch the game or just that one play? Cov Cath and Ncc have some history over the past 4 years, that's the first time Cch has beaten Ncc in the tournament in sometime. Well played by Cch, they moved the ball well and it seemed coach Robertson has really done a great job this year.

Agreed.....two large monkeys came off cch's back last night........beating A very good NCC team in the regionals......actually winning a game at Tower Park.......

I was at the game watching from behind the fence in behind the goal in question. It was a hand ball and should have been called. In my opinion, the center ref is the worst referee in NKY and needs to retire. From his whistle blowing of shoulder to shoulder challenges to his constant banter to players and coaches, CCH coach was justified in being upset. I have watched this bungling referee for 15 years and he is pathetic. Maybe I will get my ref license so that he can retire....lol

Awww c'mon wkrp, just enjoy the success of the team. No need to be negative.

My thoughts exactly. I thought this was going to be a thread about the game. But 90% of the posts are about one missed call. Hell it didn't even have an impact on the game. Can't the CovCath fans be happy with the win and the fact they are in the finals, or was winning possibly 2-0 that important. You are in for a long basketball season if one call is going to illicit this much complaining.

Don't worry. We're plenty happy. :)

Are you sure groinpull because you seem a litte bitter anything I can do... I'm always here to cheer up my CCH fans.

A tale of two games for NCC. Complete domination of the midfield against Cooper resulting in 6 goals, while on their heels and playing more defensively against CCH. CCH was able to move the ball around at will throughout their attacking 1/3. It seemed NCC just wasn't clicking tonight as a team. They were unable to string together 3,4,5 passes without a wayward pass or a terrible trap, were unable to really get their strikers into the game, and their gk seemed somewhat unwilling to come off the goal line to collect dangerous passes/crosses. If NCC had played as well as they did against Cooper the outcome would have been completely different. However, CCH throughly deserved the win.

As far as the questionable handball, I was in the stands and was blocked from seeing what actually happened. These things do happen on the field as well, all it takes is 1 or 2 out of the 22 on the field to stand in the way. Props to the ref for admitting that he was blocked and couldn't make the call because of it, and then pulling out the yellow after a lengthy discussion with the CCH coach. The ref told him what he saw, CCH coach just wouldn't let it go, yellow for dissent.

Good Luck to CCH and St. Henry in Saturday's game. Hope whoever wins this will represent NKY well in the state tournament.

Oregano.......also thought the gk for NCC stayed on his line too much.....in the earlier match up he was much more mobile. I can't remember him coming out of the smaller box to challenge one all night. Still a quality keeper....

I felt the passing of the CCH midfielders and in particular Bryce Day's ball control and Parker Kenney wining 90% of the 50/50s put NCC on their heels instead of letting them play their attacking game.

Agree with last couple of replies, accurate descriptions. I hate the saying, " they wanted it more", like one team did not want to win a regional semi final? I'm sure at the least the ncc seniors wanted it as bad as cch. But CCH controlled much of the game, especially the 50/50 balls and middle third of the field. NCC played passive and CCH's better technical skill level was also a huge factor, another reason they won so many 50/50 balls and controlled middle third by using good body positioning, playing a quick one touch simple pass coming out of the 50/50 challenges, etc. NCC struggled to put many passes together, lack of possession hurt them, short of couple dangerous set pieces, they produced little problems for CCH.

Just a thought, but did anyone else notice that Ncc only had one coach on the sidelines? Is McDonald the coach of all 3 teams?
