With the season starting tonight, I wanted to get the thoughts of everyone on who you think will win Mr. Basketball this season. Raymond Spalding? Camron Justice? Beetle Bolden? Aric Holman? Someone else?

What say you?

I'll take Justice. I think he will put up huge numbers and will keep KCC in the top 5 all year before leading them to the semifinals of the state tournament.

I'd take Spalding, but when you have a team full of talent, sometimes you get buried when other guys are scoring 40 every other game.

Ugh....I have no clue as of today though I agree those four in the poll are the top 4 candidates.

I think Spalding is the leader right now.

I voted "other."

Give me Drew McDonald!

With all due respect to Drew the thread title is Who Will Win Mr. Basketball not Who Do You Want to Win Mr. Basketball. :D

I WANT Hagen Tyler or Jeremiah Bell to win it. I think one of those four mentioned in the poll will win it.

Spalding's to lose. Justice will more likely than not put up big numbers but so will Spalding for a big. Something to the tune of 23-25 points, 16 rebounds, 4 blocks and 2 steals about 4 assists.

And with all due respect, there are games his numbers look like he disappeared. Again, the talent around him will overshadow him to some degree. I think he will be the leader unless Trinity doesn't make it out of the 7th, which could happen I suppose.

I voted for Spalding because I think his individual success will be the reason T wins the whole thing.

Out of curiosity, can only seniors win Mr. Basketball?

I have no doubt Spalding has the ability to put up those numbers, but I don't think it will happen on a Mike Szabo-coached Trinity team. It will be a much different-looking Trinity team if he does.

Spalding will win as long as Trinity makes it to state. People tend to vote based on name in the news, so Spalding with have that now that he has signed with Louisville. Plus the schedule that Trinity plays. UofL will have 2 KY Mr Basketball players....

I know, and I think Drew McDonald will win. I believe he is the best player and will show it this year. The options given list 4 players AND THEN "Other (Please Specify)" -- I specified who I think will win it.

Believe me, if I got to vote on "who I wanted to win it," it would not be Drew.

From what I've heard, from various sources, Drew was the better player while they were both on the Travelers... before someone left the team.

Last year, yes I totally agree with that. He also had trey ivory on the team who shot the ball essentially anytime he saw fit, regardless if it was within the flow of the game or not. What I think you're missing with Spalding though is his impact far beyond scoring points. Also will justice do more than score points?

What numbers are you doubting? He avg 11 rebounds, around 3 assists and 3 blocks. He also averaged 13 points. That's only 10 more points and 5 more rebounds, you don't think he can do that in szabos offense?
