First post-season win in Somerset Christian history. Congratulations to the Cougars!

A few years back I went to a "home" Covington Latin game against Bellevue that was played at the St. Henry Athletic Complex.

Congratulations to the Spartans. A very nice win. As for tonight's match-up against Frederick Douglass - Sayre's 2 games against Frederick Douglass this year were closer than its 2 games with Scott County. Watch out, Broncos!

Malyiek McCray has been named head coach at Kentucky Country Day. Son of former U of L player Scooter McCray, Malyiek graduated from KCD in 2015.

"It is Augusta’s first regular season win over Mason County." Congratulations, Augusta. That is totally awesome. And with the Panthers hosting a Glory Road game tomorrow night, certainly a good stretch for Augusta.

I have so many great memories dating back to the 1960's, but I think my favorite memory is the 1988 state championship game between Ballard (Allan Houston) and Clay County (Richie Farmer) in a packed Freedom Hall. Ballard won 88-79 despite Richie Farmer scoring 51 points (he shot 20/32 from the field). The stuff legends are made of.

Jason Frakes today confirmed that Beth Haven will not field a Varsity team this season.

Travis Perry, Max Green, and Quel'ron House were a very good nucleus. Was hoping for a sweep but came up a little short. I was disappointed that Trent Noah did not participate. I agree with above comments about Max Green. Saw him play multiple times this season. Big time player. Looking forward to following him moving forward.

To add to that, their enrollment for 23-24 is listed at 242. They were not eligible for the post-season this year, but went 17-12. Their two leading (at 19.9 and 15.3 ppg) were both freshmen and their third leading scorer (at 14.4 ppg) was a sophomore. I saw them play a couple times and left thinking they likely will be very good in a couple years. JCPS is building a new building for the school (off Poplar Level Road in the Newburgh area) but I don't think it is going to be ready until the 26-27 school year. At this point, they really do not have a place to play home games, although I think they played at least one game this past season at the Old Male Gym and called it a home game. While they have been placed in the 26th district for now, I think there is a pretty good chance it may get moved if there is a realignment of the Sixth and Seventh Regions, which I understand is likely to happen.

Helped to have back-to-back Mr. Basketballs in 63 and 64 in Wes Unseld and Mike Redd.

I gave up on this issue long ago, and I will continue to go to Valley for the 6th and 7th regional tournaments. However, I don't think it is too much to ask that the 7th Region tournament be played within the 7th Region. If JCPS is not willing to spend money to provide an adequate facility at a JCPS school, I think a return of the 7th Region tournament to Freedom Hall would be awesome. But I am not holding my breath.

I was only here for the second half but thought Ballard played smarter and harder than CAL. Bruins deserved the win.

Been a tough year for the Bruins. Other than a very nice win over Male, what is their best win? Beth Haven, maybe? I know the old adage is that it is tough to beat a team three times in a season. But I actually think is pretty easy to beat a team three times in a season, particularly when you are the better team and have the best player who will be playing in the game, which CAL has in Jackson Washington. I think CAL gets it done tonight. We'll see.

KCD's win over Eastern earlier in the season certainly was a good win, probably the best of the season for the Bearcats. I don't have a feeling that it is going to happen again. But who knows. That's why they play the game.

In a game that won't mean much to many, the Wyverns of Francis Parker (formerly St. Francis) take down the Kentucky Country Day Bearcats 56-53 for the first time since the 2009-2010 season. The Wyverns improve to 6-12 while KCD, which recently played in the All A state tournament, falls to 12-8. A big win for Francis Parker.

This could be interesting. Evangel Christian and Portland Christian have both moved, and Highlands Latin has been added since 2007 along with DuBois and Grace James. Another interesting twist is presented by Francis Parker (formerly St. Francis), which is still located in downtown Louisville but plays its home games at its lower school/middle school campus in Oldham County (although its long range plan is to build a new gym downtown). Hope they will use some common sense in coming up with a new alignment.

North Oldham is now 16-2 and really playing well. I hope to get out and see them soon.
