From the scoreboard.  Augusta upsets Mason Co. at the Fieldhouse 74-72.  Sorry, no other info.

The Panthers beat the Royals for the first time since the 2016 district tournament. It is Mason County’s first loss against a district opponent in the regular season since 1997-98. It is Augusta’s first regular season win over Mason County.

Wow. The Augusta Panthers sent a very clear message to Mason County and the rest of the 39th district with a huge win at the Fieldhouse tonight. They could very well hold the #1 seed when the 39th district tournament starts. They are now tied with the Royals with a 5-1 district record. 
 

Augusta improves to 12-6 and hosts St. Patrick on Friday night. On that particular night, the historic Augusta gymnasium will be designated by the Kentucky High School Basketball Hall of Fame as a Glory Road site. They will be honoring gyms across the state who have played a role in helping make Kentucky high school basketball the cultural phenomenon it is today. The presentation will take place between the girls and boys games. Programs will be on sale for $10 commemorating the history of our tiny historic gymnasium.

Hinson still has it!  His biggest win in a while.

Congratulations, Augusta.  That is totally awesome.  And with the Panthers hosting a Glory Road game tomorrow night, certainly a good stretch for Augusta.

Kirk on the hotseat? Seems like he's had a pretty long tenure for no regional championships at Mason Co anyways.

Is the district seeded now or still the blind draw.

Seeded.  RPI will determine Augusta and Mason County seeding of 1 and 2.

I thought he would resign last year, but I think he will resign on his own at the end of the season.  As to winning no regional championships, you have to consider how good Campbell and Clark have been.  Clark a state title and runner-up, Campbell went to the state semifinals, etc.

The last two minutes was a free throw shooting contest.  Also, Mason County has had trouble on defense and not fouling.  They do foul a lot and have players foul out in many games.

I wasn't taking a shot at him because I know those schools have been good.  But, I would think the standard at Mason Co. is regional championships.
