I know that old argument. I'm asking how he was rated across the state at the beginning of the year. Was he mentioned?

Cats Pause had him second in the region, but also as second favorite for Mr Bball behind Bush.

 

Tilford may have been the furthest down the list, but that wasn't a strong year for top players or the state as a whole.

He probably has a long way to go to catch the top 3 in the public's perception, but he is not far behind on the court if last night is any indication of what's to come.

He'd been chosen afterwards also. And Jackson Davis was behind him and Kelan Martin was behind him. Those were your three best players in high school last year. Without question.

 

Agreed. I think I was asking more for the finalists.

At this point I think we have to add serious consideration to Perry (Ballard) and Matlock (Hopkinsville). They both have had very impressive starts to the season. There are probably others, but these two have taken over games. Perry's performance against Montverde was exceptional as was Matlock's performances vs UHA and Fern Creek. I still think it is Spalding's to lose, but he better pick up the pace on production. Right now I think Perry is a very close second.

 

So Far this year:

 

Bolden - 17.8 ppg/ 4.3 rpg

Spalding - 12.5 ppg / 6.0 rpg

Justice - 24.0 ppg/ 1.8 rpg

Holeman - 15.5 ppg/ 11.0 rpg

Perry - 23.8 ppg/ 7.0 rpg

Matlock - 23.5 ppg/ 5.9 rpg

I know, and I think Drew McDonald will win. I believe he is the best player and will show it this year. The options given list 4 players AND THEN "Other (Please Specify)" -- I specified who I think will win it.

 

Believe me, if I got to vote on "who I wanted to win it," it would not be Drew.

 

From what I've heard, from various sources, Drew was the better player while they were both on the Travelers... before someone left the team.

 

McDonald is a good player but nowhere near the level Spalding is and that is why McDonald is going to NKU and Spalding is going to Louisville.

Forgot to add Q. Gooden to that mix he is 20.5 ppg/ 7.5 rpg

 

and McDonald has a 21 ppg/ 9 rpg average, but has only played 2 games
