It's inexcusable that Trinity settled for so many jump shots. At some point the 3 becomes fool's gold and you have to attack the basket. You would think after coming through the 7th Region Trinity wouldn't be intimidated.

Trinity:

David Burton had 9 points.

Jacob King had 7 points.

If you'd have told me before the game that Trinity would hold its opponent to under 50, I'd have said that was a very good sign...

What a terrible day offensively. Couldn't make anything from the perimeter and had no way around Weyer at the basket. Whew.

Good luck to NCC the rest of the weekend.

Question for those who know much more about them than me (an enormous segment of the population).

Does NCC have a team than can cut down the nets?

It wasn't that long ago that other regions hoped to draw the 9th. I think that has changed drastically over the last 5 years or so.

Trinity had no answer for Weyer. Rocks led this 11-2 at one point, then failed to score in the 2nd quarter.

Yes. I think a team like Dunbar could beat them, but the Breds are playing at a high level right now.

Trinity's made their way through the season by shooting its way through slumps. Even in games where they werent shooting well, eventually, sometime in the third or fourth, the threes would start falling.

Just didn't happen today.

Way to go Breds. From listening and reading the update thread it sounded like Trinity was not very confident going down low with Weyer there, and maybe to confident with there perimeter game. Did Trinity try and attack Weyer as it was mentioned he had zero fouls, which is mind boggling considering he plays the post.

Did playing the regional at NKU truly help NCC? Or was it just one of those days?

Good luck Friday.

Congrats Breds, keep it up, way to represent .

The stage magnified the shooting slump, for sure. They sped up the offense in the 4th and pressed much more. Had they tried that earlier, who knows. Then again, after the first few pressed possessions, NewCath looked like they had it handled, and T didn't have bodies on the bench to allow for foul trouble. NewCath looked VERY Heady at the end. Forced very little, ran their offense. They didn't shoot well at all, but won the boards. I'd have to say that they won the turnover battle as well. They definitely attacked the rim more, especially in the mid 3rd-mid 4th.
