Trinity with only 2 seniors on the roster? The Trinity radio color commentator predicted the Rocks to be back in Rupp next year in the state tournament.

The best outside shot comes from an inside/outside pass. If you got no inside . . . .

NCC plays some pretty good defense.

Glad I was wrong on my contest pick. Nice job NCC, 9th represented today!!! Six more regions will be eliminated before Breds lace em up again on Friday.

While it sounds like Weyer had a whale of a game, that isn't why Trinity didn't go to the paint more. That's just not who they were this year. They are a jump shooting team and today they never started to fall.

T missed 20 shots in a row from mid-1st qtr to mid-3rd qtr.

This is why they should wait til after the state tournament to determine Mr. Kentucky Basketball... Ben Weyer making a statement to the state that he is legit. Congrats to Trinity on a great season and good luck to NCC the rest of the way.

Question for those who know much more about them than me (an enormous segment of the population).

 

Does NCC have a team than can cut down the nets?

 

I might get a little flack for this, especially from my buddy LB13...but without some upsets happening and things just really going NCC's way, I'd have to say no. Now, with that said have stranger things happened? Absolutely they have, but there are definitely better teams that one would think should beat them somewhere along the way. I would be somewhere between mildly and fairly surprised if they cut down the net. However, since I have seen them play several times the past couple of years which has fostered somewhat of a rooting interest for them along with my friendship with @Lawnboy13, I'd like to see it happen for them.

 

I wasn't at todays game, didn't see it so not sure how much I can comment on it, but NCC is going to have to come up with more than 48 points to beat most teams. Not going to hold many to 33, or anywhere close to that most of the time when playing the better teams the state has to offer. But again, if they could pull it off I'd be happy for them. Plus LB13 would get me in the school so I could check out the trophy in their trophy case.:thumb:

Yes. Defense wins championships and this tournament is wide open. Each game is all about matchups also. The NCC/Murray game will be a high quality game.

 

Any time you can beat the 7th Region representative the way they just did you certainly have a team good enough to win it all.

Bellermine is getting a STEAL in Weyer! Kid is legit. When you have a shot blocking ability like he does, you start to think about him when you drive to the basket! Congrats to the breds and congrats to the trinity seniors on great careers.

Hard to believe that Trinity scored its 10th and 11th point mid way through the 1st Quarter and would not score again until the 3rd quarter. Thats right, 0 point second quarter.

 

Weyer was a man today. He completely dominated this game and it seemed Trinity was intimidated by him and subsequently settled for lots of jumpers.
