  1. I have no idea of Conner's returning players but I will agree that last years team was driven to succeed by Roberts. I don't know the young man but from watching my son playing against them and watching him some last summer with the KY Col's, he was the one who kept everyone loose and "into the game". They may have another player that can do that this year but IMO Conner overachieved last year a bit and he was a big part of it. The 33rd, as well as the 35th, will be tough as usual. I can't wait to see the boys start playing.
  2. Louis was on his game last night and was very active and stayed out of foul trouble. He also had several close in shots just roll out. Nice job Louis!!
  3. Congrats to Goose!!
  4. Addition by subtraction.
  5. I would give it to which ever kid leads their team to state. Hatton has probably played a much better schedule which may cost him a few points per game.
  6. I thought the first half they did "let em' bang". It seemed after the score difference went over 20 in the second half that it was getting "chippy" between a couple of players so they started calling it tight. As always a couple of questionable calls each way but overall I think the officials did a good job.
  7. Not sure if it changes anything but that is an old form as St. Henry is still listed instead of Cooper which is in it's fourth year.
  8. Good for DJ. I've known him for several years and he always treated me with respect. I'm very happy for him that he gets to continue to play in college as it has been a goal of his. Congrats DJ!!
  9. You were there to support Conner. Who is #35 for Conner?
  10. As I said before, Cooper, Conner and Ryle are fairly close. I haven't seen Boone but from their scores I believe they will be the favorite but could get beat by any of these three on a given night. District tournament will be good.
  11. I was going to say the same thing. I don't know his name but his voice is incredible.
  12. I talked to a parent from Ryle during the last half of the season and they mentioned there were a lot of kids quitting the team due to something about the coaching staff. I have no knowledge, nor do I care, about what the exact problem is or was but does anyone from Ryle have any "true" knowledge of how many kids quit during the year? I saw a couple of games this year and there seemed to be a lot more kids at the start of the season than at the end but was curious of the number.
  13. Don't worry, it's not the first, or last, time you will be wrong.
  14. Have you ever picked SK to lose in anything?
  15. I've seen Cooper, Conner and Ryle and I don't think there is much difference in the three. I've yet to see Boone but this district may be wide open.
  16. Monroe is very smooth. This game would be a lot closer if Cooper could make free throws. They missed a bunch of front end one and one's along with a lot of two shot free throws. I thought Cooper's defense played very hard as usual and after giving up 20 in the first, they only gave up 35 in the last three quarters. PC full court press caused a lot of turnovers as well. Cooper just never quits fighting till the end. I also thought the officials did a nice job tonight. Good luck to both teams.
  17. As with most sports fans, if you win they will come. What is Conner's record now?
  18. I've only seen Conner and I doubt their D gives up that many as well. Offensively they have work to do but their defense was pretty good.
  19. Guaranteed ..no.. as he still has to perform well this year but lets say I have some other knowledge and that is what EKU is expecting to happen if all goes according to plan. It's not a big deal as all college coaches have a plan of what they would like to happen with their future recruits. Some work out and some don't. I hope it works out for Doug.
  20. Just a guess, but he is going to EKU and is (from what I'm told) expected to start as a Freshman at SS or 2nd. I thought he had some "minor" arm soreness/issues over the last year or so, so maybe the coach is thinking of the kid first. Now, he would be one of the top pitchers in NKY this year but I don't know how effective you can be if you just pitch the District or Region games or if it is worth the risk if he has had the arm problems. I think he pitched less last year than his Soph year. Doug is a great kid so whichever way they go I hope he stays healthy and I look forward to following his career at EKU.
  21. I feel the same. IMO, always run first and if it's not working start mixing it up with the pass. If the run is working and you are killing the clock and have the lead, then stick with it. It's nice to know though, for once, Boone has someone who can throw when needed. Congrats to Boone and good luck next week.
  22. Congrats to Anderson County and nice run by Conner. I was worried about this game for Conner thinking the kids may overlook AC after the Franklin County game but it doesn't seem that was the case, just seems two pretty even teams and a close game.
  23. I received a text that Conner up 16 to 14... no other details.
  24. On paper Cov Cath is #1 preseason IMO. They will be very good, top to bottom.
  25. Actually pretty smart as Franklin County has a lot of speed and if you are not successful you limit the chance of them returning it for a TD.
