They certainly didn't decide the game as Conner is the better team but in the 2nd quarter there seemed to be about 4 in a row. A travel call where the Cooper player lost control of the ball while in the air but never even came down with it when the whistle blew for travel. The intentional foul was a joke as the Cooper player clearly made a play on the ball and although he fouled him across the arms, that shouldn't have been call intentional and the "older" ref even came over to discuss it with the ref that called it but let it go. There was a clear charge on the Conner player driving the lane, IMO. I will also say there were a couple of blocks that Conner had that looked clean but they were called fouls. I don't have a kid playing so that was just the observation of a group of us watching had.

He was always a very good athlete. Not saying if he is better than Elliott at RB or not but he is very talented.

Did all of these players leave Bluegrass?

Was that the one where Hodges seemed to be wide open for a drop step dunk and Bradley met him above the rim to send it back? That one was nice.

Two of the three that did the Cooper/Conner game last night won't have to worry about doing college.

I heard the first game is with Cooper but not sure how reliable my source is.

I saw the first half and Bradley had at least 12 as he drove the lane and no one could stop him. Number 15 for Ryle was hitting every shot it seemed this first half. Ryle was up 22-15 when Cooper went on a 7-0 run to end the half. Cooper fans filled the lower bleachers on their side causing the band and some extra fans to move to the upper level. Ryle side had the kids parents and maybe a handfull of their students. I probably saw more Conner school jackets than Ryle. I was very surprised to see the lack of support after seeing how they support their football team.

I have been to the last couple of Cooper home games and I have seen Mr. Gabbard there grading the ref's so it would be interesting to hear his opinions as to what he sees.

I wonder how they fund such an adventure.

IMO, the apple didn't fall far from the tree. A great talent but Major College coaches have a lot to choose from and kids that seem to have attitude problems will lose in the end.

Heck, if Cooper didn't miss 15 free throws they may have beaten them as well. Conner, I'm told, has a lot of talent but do they have heart? Time will tell. I hope they turn it around before the post season.

No dog in this fight but Channel 5 news sports reporter just said that Mason canceled due to coming storm. Even as bad as BOKC people may be, I doubt they put this report out if it wasn't true. I would think that the Mason County coaches would make a statement if not. No big deal, there is a storm predicted so a smart move IMO.

It was a close game throughout. Cooper scored early in the 4th to go up 5. HC used the same press the whole game and I bet Cooper had about 25 turnovers or more. They even started the game with 4 straight turnovers. I was impressed with #4 from HC. He had a nice shot. HC score the go ahead with about 13 secs left and Cooper had 3-4 shots at the end but nothing would fall. I've seen two Cooper games thus far and they play hard and are good defensively but don't have enough scorers. They had Maniacci play some JV to get some confidence and he played well and even had a nice break away dunk. Cooper just needs to shoot free throws better and learn to limit the turnovers and they may squeak out some wins this year.

Conner didn't impress me when they played Cooper but I just figured they had an off night.

What's funny is Boone has a candidate. Conner throws nearly every down and has no one to qualify by these stats. Seems odd.

Is Jim her father? Where did she transfer to?

Congrats to Cooper's Bradley and their O Line. Bradley finishes 4th in State in rushing with almost 1900 yards in the schools third season of existence.

Let me be clear first of all that Ryle deserved to win this game. But look how hard it is to beat HHS. You have to control the ball 34 plus minutes to 13. Have to go on 4th down a few times and make it to keep drives alive. Have a no call on a fumble (which happens at times). Have some dropped passes (both teams actually did). Have a coach go for 2 after the first TD and not make it, etc... and HHS loses by 2. I just thought that was amazing to have to have all things just about go your way to beat them by 2 points. Congrats to Ryle for pulling it off.

They didn't. Bradley had over 250 yards but also 2 fumbles to go along with 3 other turnovers Cooper had I believe plus Cooper was stopped on 4th and goal inside the five. Newport played hard and it was Senior night. Cooper players could not hang onto the ball all night. I was curious as to why when Cooper was up 26-19 with 45 secs left and Newport only had 2 timeouts as to why they would run Bradley, which he ended up getting 20 plus yards but then fumbled giving Newport one last chance. Couldn't they have taken a knee 3 times and run out the clock or am I missing something?

Neither is Bradley's from Cooper who has nearly 1600 yards.

I would put them at a tie for #1 but the team that normally wins the last game in this situation gets the nod from voters.

Congrats to Ryle on a huge win. They will be #1 in the polls.

Great coaching decision.
