The best center in the region dominated the Colonels tonight. CovCath can't be considered the favorite in the 9th Region anymore after losing to Holmes and NCC in the same week.

How does NCC hold them to 43 points? Zone?

Thelen went up for a close basket in the 4th, Geisler stopped him. Thelen thought that he was fouled. Immediately turned around and fouled Geisler who now had the ball, Listerman came unglued.

 

Very short time later Connelly is called for a foul while trying to steal the ball, quickly reacts, gets T'd up. Not sure what he said to ref. At this point the Colonels come unglued and downward spirals. Never a chance back in after that.

What's going on with big Drew Baker? Came on to the scene with a big splash this year and his commentary has dwindled. The kid is a great talent. I think he is the X factor for the CCH team. Did he play well tonight?

Oh wellllll, these things happen. Kids will be kids, hope neither one of the T's started the spiral that you speak of.

Sounds like a great game between the Campbell Cty Catholics and the Kenton Cty Catholics.

Also sounds like the battle between the two big guys was won by the Football guy. Just sayn.

Geisler is indeed the best center and player in the region, but man does he get the "Jordan treatment."

 

He is without a doubt better than Thelen, but Thelen got hacked several times and there was no call.

 

I've seen a lot of basketball over the years and I must admit that I've never seen a team "homered" as bad as Covcath was tonight. Geisler was travelling/carrying/insert anything else you want here, anytime he touched the ball and tried to take his man off the dribble and nothing was called. Defensively, his "football side" came out on more than several occasions and again no calls. Newcath was the better team tonight but the officiating was absolutely horrible, to say the least.

 

And before anyone comes down on me for my observation, keep in mind I have no affiliation with either team. Just a simple casual fan tonight.

Not sure what Thelen ended up with but he had just 7 heading in to the 4th quarter.

Why not? Throw the records out the window when these two meet. Usually the team that wants it the most, wins more times then not in big rivalry games. You are right though, NewCath has like 71 boys in the whole school compared to 500 Blueboys in Covington so you analogy of "fathom" should be on the money. IDK, I dont get it either.
