I refuse to comment on any high school player negatively. You are taking a simple comment about CCH going to a 6 person rotation and assume that I feel that some of those 6 can't play. Maybe that's your opinion - not mine. Spin it anyway you want - the bottom line is that this team has not played well since the LexCath tournament and that coincides with the change in playing philosophy. Come to a game - watch it objectively and then let me know that no else should be playing. This is not a kid thing. It's about the overall development of the entire team and enhancing your opportunities for advancement in the district tournament, regional tournament and for the future of the program.

 

I certainly would like to know to whom you think should be getting some more minutes and I sure hope it isn't some of the sophomores that you are thinking about! Now you do attend practice so you do understand what is going on there and you know who is healthy and who isn't correct? So let us know to whom you think should be getting more minutes and why?

Three player race for player of the year in Northern Kentucky in my opinion. Not willing to give award just yet to Giesler in first two weeks of January. CovCath has played awful well early in the year and Thelen has been very good. Realize Scott is in the 10th Region but if you are talking about player of year in Northern Kentucky at this point Kellen Smith has to be in the conversation. He is averaging 19 ppg (top 5 in N Ky), leading Northern Kentucky in assists by a wide margin and leading in steals as well.

 

If your argument is that Giesler is more important to his team than you haven't watched Scott play. Scott runs everything thru Smith and like Giesler he doesn't come off the floor unless it is foul trouble or a blowout. Lot of basketball to be played before you hand out the awards

 

And, Brown from Boone continues to average 20 pts per game and 10 or more rebounds per game, I would say there are still several players in the mix. In the "battle of the big men" with Geisle and Brown, it was an even match IMO, with Boone getting the win that night.

I do know a little about what's going on inside the program and feel very strongly that (read thread above) that the junior class year after year is often forgotten by CCH's coaching staff and that their development is thwarted and preparation for their senior season is minimized. Some of you are getting nuts about a simple comment about the coaching staff going to a 6 man rotation in December. The bottom line is this - the CCH senior class is extremely talented. The junior class playing time is down to less than 10 minutes per game (last night it was approximately 6 minutes total). Don't even start with me about you going to practice every day. I know many players that look like Kobe in practice and can't hanlde the pressure in game. Stick to what my point is and don't try to make my comments something that they weren't intended.

Would have to agree that Brown deserves to be in the mix but not getting a lot of help from Boone County coaching staff when they don't call in the stats. I have only seen Boone County once this year and Brown was good not spectacular. Certainly not like he played in the Eastern game. As I said in the earlier post lots of basketball still to played before these types of awrds are handed out.

No.

Brown is a nice player, I saw the Boone NCC game Jake had to guard two big men, if big Jack would have been there I think you would have seen a different game. But Boone shot the ball from the outside and they won good job.

Still can't believe that CCH only made 4 foul shots to NCC 17. I won't go as far to say that this game was a mirage but I do believe that the Colonels can play much better and that NCC played there best.

I agree that CCH can and most likely will play better. However, I'm not sure NCC thinks they played their best.
