Oh, and unless someone steps up and shoots over the zone..... well, you know what that means. -

Connelly only played in the first period and sat the remainder of the game with an injury suffered in morning game. Again, F/T shooting is plain awful. The bottomline, however, is that BBF is correct. These boys need to play much more aggressively than they have in recent games. -

Hang on. The OP has a point. They should just shut the place down. Maybe bulldoze the whole place. Naaaaa. Maybe the OP should just get a big ol' grip. SealTeam is spot on. -
Not terribly surprising. Good for the Jags.

Don't forget that the ref's were late coming back after half time. That was a hoot. -

I have learned that Coach L didn't put Connelly back into the game after the Technical foul because that is his 'policy'. It didn't appear that the foul was anything flagrant or violent. While that is certianly the Coach's choice, I like to hear him explain the rationale since he himself was T'ed up after blowing up on the sideline. I don't think the lesson he intended really came across. -

Not to be too argumentative, but someone has to be responsible. There is way too much talent and depth on this team to lose like they have done in the last two outings. -

So you weren't at the game and admit to bad camera angle but are confident there were no missed travel calls? Not sure I get that. That said, CovCath would not have won this game if they had gotten every call. Just like the Holmes game, there was no fire in the belly. No one was driving the ball to the hoop. Way too many outside shots by the big guys. Twice in a row, they were not prepared for the teams they faced. There is too much talent on the bench for them not be aggressive. Why they believe they can (or have to ) match up in half court with anyone is baffling to me. As a side note on the officiating, I saw the worst call ever in a high school game during the 3d period of the JV game. The ref who looks like Hannibal Lector called a charge on a CCH kid when the NCC kid CLEARLY had one foot still in the air. Solid game by Jake Giesler. Good back up by his teammates. -

Campbell County still has players fighting a bug? Sounds like they need to fumigate the locker room. This has been going on a long, long time. -

There was no foul on that play. Three guys going up hard for a rebound. The ball went out on Connelly and he went to the floor. Bulldogs ball. Yes, I do believe the refs were letting them play. -

Which would work for a team like CovCath, IF everyone is playing aggressive. If they slack off, it results in easy baskets, little d-rebounding. No fouls in the first half, with this team, is an indicator that aggression was lacking in this game. A lot of people have spoken about the lack of fouls called on CCH in the 1st half. I would also ask if there were any charges called in the game? I don't remember any in the first half at least. No blocking calls, no charges = no one shutting down the inside. Coach L has enough on the bench that he should not have let that stand. My old coaches would have grabbed someone and said, 'Go foul someone, anyone and make it a hard one!". For CovCath to get through the 9th, they are going to have to be aggressive. (Not the getting knocked out and requiring stitches aggrressive, mind you). -

I was very impressed with the discipline Holmes showed last night. They had very good ball movement and for the most part were patient on offense. As good as they have been over the last few years, those older teams would have shown some cracks after CovCath came back to tie up the game. This Holmes team did not. CovCath looked very, very timid in the first half of the game. No one seemed willing to drive to the basket. Given CovCath's height advantage and depth on the bench, I would have expected CovCath to be more aggressive. This is a game that slipped right through CovCath's hands. -

Very strange to see the CovCath players and the B'wood Coaches doing a shoot around after the JV game. Very Strange. -
Absolutely. And Bobby Stouffer from Ryle.

Tragic. Sounds like the type of kid who'll be able to handle this. I do hate to see any Seniors get injured. Best wishes for a speedy recovery. -

I don't have anything to add. I just wanted to bump this thread to the top of the pile so I can continue to enjoy a CovCath win over Highlands. -

How does CovCath get ranked eight slots below Henry Clay after beating them handily? CovCath's only losses have been to the #1 and #5 teams.
