Sounded like good showing by the guards. Baker was in foul trouble from the start. Better outside shooting by the Colonels with Brett and Cubby hitting 3's.

What's been so impressive about Covcath so early is that it's a different guy complimenting Thelen every night. Tonight, from the sounds of it, it was Riedinger.

Good to see Riedinger have a game like this for a real confidence boost just like Baker did the other night against Conner. The pieces are coming together quite nicely for the Colonels. :thumb: Was also glad to see them hit their foul shots down the stretch to seal the victory.

I think Cleves and Massie might've had a bucket here and there to round things out.

Thanks for the update. It is GREAT to see that Riedinger (sp?) had such a great game! This is going to be a fun team to follow this year. I hope the boys stay grounded. I've caught some games and it seems like the attitudes on the bench are positive this year as well. Good things to come...

Knowing some of these guys, I am not so sure they've ever been 'grounded'. I believe that is their strength ( I do know what you mean, seriously)

CovCath got down 9-0 in the first couple of minutes then got on hot to end the quarter being ahead 13-11.

 

The player who I thought played the best tonight besides Thelen, was Conner Maschinot! Maschinot scored 9 but did a great job of passing the ball around and driving the basketball.

CovCath was 0/2 from the free throw line in the first half but was 14/22 in the second half for a game total of 14/24

The big stat was CovCath shot 50% from beyond the arch tonight, so be careful about over loading the paint with the "D" to stop the big men!

This team is indeed fun to watch as they feed off each other. No one seems to care who leads this team in scoring, just as long as they win.

 

BTW a huge tip of Theoldguy hat to Senior Neil Kennedy for attending and cheering the Colonels on tonight. He indeed was the CovCath Crazy and he alone out cheered the St. X student body! Outstanding job Mr. Kennedy!
