  1. They also don't appear to have an idiot coach rule in Ohio. Number 99, a very large young man, was in obvious heat distress coming off the field at the half. He had to be assisted by two teammates. I guess he just wasn't tough. What a load of junk.
  2. What is the world is going on with college football uniforms? Does everyone have some StarWars / Ghetto designer? Oregon, Va Tech, Miami, .... Now Georgia comes out that godawful design last night. That was terrible. Heck, even Army rolled out that silly all digital camo a couple of year ago. It makes me appreciate Penn State and Alabama.
  3. by the score at half, yes. However, you are drawing a large conclusion. Does this mean that every team will ROLL them? No. I admit I am a homer, but I do know enough about football to know that, if it is coached correctly, this is not a disaster for CovCath. If Boone, or anyone else, sees it that way, woe be onto them. LaSalle is GOOD and CovCath made mistakes that are correctable.
  4. Hate to see that for him, the team and the Raider Nation. I don't use the 'deserve' often, but that kid deserved a senior year. Hang in there Travis.
  5. Okay, now for the game. LaSalle maybe having a down year, but they are still a big, fast, physical football team. Their LB, No. 37 owned the middle of the line. Before anyone jumps on the Colonels too much, I don't think the game was as bad for them as the score might indicate. To me it comes down to two things: 1) Tackling on Defense and 2) confidence on Offense. Last year CovCath had trouble getting kids in the right spot on Defense. The scheme was so complicated that lots of times runners were never touched. Today, at last week for that matter, kids were in place to meet the ball carrier. They simply didn't make tackles. That is fixable. On offense, they started moving the ball well, but then they had a few set backs and their chins dropped. This is still a farily young bunch and they need a game plan that can build on small successes till their confidence comes up. The fumble and the blocked punt crushed their confidence.
  6. It was 107 on the field and the decision to restart the game was out of everyone's hands. Their option was to wait til it gets cooler or call it. Didn't sound like anyone wanted to wait til 6:00 am tomorrow to play it. After what happened in L'ville a couple of years ago, no one is playing around with heat in the KHSAA. I saw a couple of kids who were in obvious heat distress. No. 99 for LaSalle was cooked.
  7. UK could use Towles tonight. Heck, he could be a starter next year.
  8. Fun game to watch. B'wood had numbers, size, and to a large extent speed. The better team won. I have to say NCC had about 18 or so kids and some never came out of the game. Very gutsy display. I have to say the future is bright for B'wood those kids will fit right into their system.
  9. Surely you are not serious? Guy could loose some serious money making bets like that.
  10. Sorry I think you missed my point. Cohorn is obviously a good athlete. My point, and I think you agreed is that you'd have to be superman to play 100% on every down. At some point late in the game, there's gonna be less gas in the tank. After his long TD catch & run, the poor kid had to grab is knees for a minute before he had to hold for the extra point! I can only assume that the Dixie coaching staff had him cleaning the locker room after the game too. They don't seem to be able to remember more that 16 kid's names. Can they find someone to spell him so he can focus, and have some gas in the tank for the entire game?
  11. Beuhler......Beuhler???? Seriously, Pike ran less up the middle than last year and he killed CovCath up the middle.
  12. Um.... no big time SEC quarterback would attempt a throw across his body in the endzone. In the SEC, that's an interception, not a TD. That is a testament to CovCaths areas to improve more than a Dixie strength.
  13. So if they are down, they're down. Period. Not everyone gets a trophy. To get blanked by a 1A school is not good no matter how you try to justify it.
  14. Pike was Pike tonight. No better, no worse. Just Pike. Burchell WAS a beast. If you want to search the archives for a comparison, go ahead. You are just trying to show your history. He is real today. Bir had another good game. The progress he's made from last year is stark. The question mark for this CovCath team is the secondary. They made some good plays tonight, but they also gave up some big ones. Pike would not have be as effective without the big play. Talkers is a huge weapon for CovCath and he has yet to kick a field goal. Why does as school as big as Dixie play so many kids both ways? I sat next to a Dixie 'ex who was as surprised as I was. Cohorn is a good, not great, athlete, but he can not be expected to do it all. Is it time for the Edgewood Mafia to rise up?
  15. Warm day, Dixie will most likely have some kids going both ways, Dixie is notorious for starting the season not in tip top shape, I'll go with CovCath 35-14. If Pike tries to carry Dixie all by himself, things will go down hill fast.
  16. I offer my apologies. I am not trying to start anything. I am just offering my opinion and that is that I did not see a well coached effort from the Camels last night. After what I read about the whole coaching issue in Campbell county last year. I just can't see too many people pleased with what they saw last night. I do hope that Lickert turns things around for CCH. I 've met more than a few of their kids over the years and they are, to a man, very good kids. The Camel fans are some of the most accommodating I've ever had the pleasure of meeting. All that said, I still don't back off the statement I made. There were coaching errors made in Purple last night.
  17. People in the stands were laughing because the little boy catching the football after extra points was on the other side of the track AND outside the fence. You are correct about Davis. He is worthy of wearing Paul Ritter's number 5.
  18. Agreed. Watching him in the NKY E/W all star game. That guy was a stud.
  19. Outstanding showing by the Colonels. 1) Bir has grown by leaps and bounds since last year. Great eyes and good head. 2) The recievers played a much better game than the scrimmage last week. Madder's second TD was a THING of BEAUTY. Pitch and Catch. 3) CovCaths's O line was the real deal. Pick a name: Way, Henderson, Halpin, Bamburger, Conaughten...... All were studs tonight. 4) Look out NKY, Cov Cath knows how to tackle a guy with a football. Hat's off to Dave Wirth as D Coord. for getting the boys to tackle. 5) I think Mr. Talkers tells the team that he's gonna put one short just to keep them on their toes. 6) Some gutsy performances by some soph's. More playing time by those guys than I expected. 7) I think Campbell County would have been better off with Troy Stires. Lot's of coaching errors that would not have been made last year. I hate to say, but this staff won't stay long. As a CovCath homer, I was tickled with this showing. Keep it up boys. Loved seeing TOG at PeeWee's too
  20. CovCath by three scores. The key for CovCath wil be the secondary.
  21. CovCath at the Camels. Then on to PeeWee's!!
