Beechwood could be in for a long year unless Larimore comes back. In all the seaosn previews, Rash seemed to be high on the kid. Beechwood will still probably make it to the championship game, but thats 1A football for you. Highlands is Highlands once again. I don't see anyone giving them a closer game than they had the first week. That is, until they play out of the state.

The Indians are looking tough this year. I know many faithful in Covington who have been waiting for a year like this out of Holy Cross.

Boyle Co. can name the score in this one. The Rebels are a force this year.

This game should be interesting. I am excited to see how Newport responds to the new staff. I think the final score will be within 7 points. I'll take the Wildcats 20-19.

I know Beechwood has Dixie's number, but I like Dixie in this one. I think it will be low scoring. Dixie 17 Beechwood 7.

Simpson is too much. I''ll take Simon Kenton 45-14.

I have to agree with you on this one. Flynn will have a lot of success in his first year, although Holmes will be a very tall mountain to climb to make it to Rupp. I expect about 22-24 wins this year for the Bluebirds.

I am really excited to see Holy Cross put out a good team. It will be fun to see if they can finally overcome the mountain that is NCC.

Talent is spread out over much of NKY. I believe their are something like 27 teams in Boone, Kenton, and Campbell counties. Talent is here, just spread out.

ESPNU had ACR's game on yesterday. Tobias Harris is quite the player. They did say Buie was a little under the weather. Either way, great job representing Kentucky boys!! :thumb:

If I am not mistaken, she went to Ryle, had some "issues", and quit the team last season. I would think that her intentions to move to Boone County, would be for a fresh start.

Have heard the same thing for awhile. I was told he was heading to California to play year round baseball.

I'd like to see Ricardo Johnson wearing that same numbered jersey at next year's Indiana=Kentucky All-Star game.

I had heard the Popp to Ryle rumors for awhile, but this is the first I have heard about Avery to Holmes. If he ends up a Bulldog, he will be a tremendous help to Pittman and the double teams he sees.

I'd look for Pike to make a huge jump in performance this season. He seemed to be playing much better towards the end of last season. He has the physical tools, but he will now mature with the mental aspects of the game and his confidence will rise as well.

Can't go wrong with either player. I think Maile gets the edge because of hype he created through his amazing high school career. Good luck in the future to both young men!

There were a few questionable calls at first, but in the end, the team who deserved to win did just that. Congrats to the Tigers!! I enjoyed catching Snyder on the hardwood, but it turns out baseball might be his best sport. Good luck to the Tigers in the future.

Beechwood is scary for the fact that they have nothing to lose. While Covington Catholic is a heavy favorite, baseball is a funny game. I expect the Colonels to win, but it should be a fun one. Beechwood's coach will pull out every trick he knows in order to beat their rival. I just don't see the Tigers overcoming all the talent Cov. Cath. posesses.

Great pick ups for the Saints baseball program. All three kids are studs at the high school level. Congrats to the kids and good luck in the future!

I like Dixie's draw, and with their pitching staff, I expect to see them in the regional finals against Covington Catholic. I'm sure some other teams will have something to say about that, but I really like Dixie's chances of getting there.

It also says the game will be on Fox 19 for those who live in the Northern Kentucky area.

Do you take out a Boone Co. runningback after 30 rushing attempts? Do you take out a Villa shooting guard after 25 shot attempts? In my opinion, the pitch count is only a number. Coaches should be in constant contact with their pitcher to be sure he feels okay between innings, but it everything is fine, send him back out there. I do agree with a previous poster who said it depends on the age of the kid, weather, etc. but I think the most important part of it all is communication.

Ludlow has not had a lot of talent the past few seasons. In a school the size of Ludlow, you will see dry spells. All division III teams will go through dry spells. Calvary is about to have a few down years, same with Beechwood. Meanwhile, Dayton is about to have an upswing, and so is Villa. Division III is all about catching a talented class coming through. The larger school will consistently have talent year in and year out.
