Ironton 27 Ashland 7

Dicky was brutually honest once again in assessing the Tomcats.

I would agree but it just hurts to see this happen to the Tomcats. They just can't seem to do anything well. I'm not so sure we will see Thomas at QB the rest of the season. Not that he is bad but the Tomcats need him to carry the ball coming out of the backfield.

Ashland better do something or it could get ugly next week. This is another textbook Ohio vs, Kentucky comparison game as well. I picked Ironton to win based simply on that, but I didn't imagine they would blow them out. Ashland starts off 0-3 all in Putnam and now has to go into the "Hank" trying to get their first win. Tough road ahead for the Tomcats.

The offense was anemic. The line play never got on track. And Ironton wasn't all that great either. But tonite they did what it took to get the win. Their major weapon was a brute fullback #36. He reminded me of "The Bus" at Pittsburgh. Ashland had no answer for stopping him up the middle.
