  1. JC may not be beating teams by the margin as they did in 2006, but keep in mind their schedule is a lot tougher this year. IMO JC could use more leadership from their seniors, like the ones in the class of 2006. I agree with their schedule this year they are beatable, but I think they would have the same results of the 2006 team if they were playing the 2006 schedule.
  2. I don't think so....if I remember correctly it will be a 4 team district.
  3. They are in 5A and it is a district game this year, next year BS moves to 6A.
  4. Ironton played St. Thomas More in 2006 with Ironton winning 27-7. Which was the first year STM won the Golden Horseshoe.
  5. I believe Matt Ratliff was named head coach.
  6. Carroll Burchett played for UK in the early 60's and if I not mistaken he started his senior year and may have started his junior year.
  7. Here's a good site on the history of the Paintsville football program, this is where I found the coaches records. http://www.stlp.paintsville.kyschools.us/phs/athletics/Athletics/Seasons.html
  8. Walter Brugh coached at Paintsville from 1956-1994 with a 280-111-5 record. David Lemaster coached from 1995-2004 with a 71-50 record. BMR coached during the 05 season and had a 10-3 record and Allen coached the 06-07 seasons with a 11-12 record. Keep in mind that when BMR took over as coach in 2004, he inherited a huge senior class with most of the starters from the 03 team returning, on the other hand Allen inherited a team that returned with only 2 or 3 seniors and few starters from BMR team.
  9. They listed Johnson Central if the Daily Independent's football version of the super 7. So why wouldn't basketball be listed?
  10. So far they have played North Laurel 52-44 Prestonsburg 57-22 Christian Academy Louisville 46-38 Shelby Valley 57-44 Sheldon Clark 69-50 Lawrence County 70-32
  11. I for one think that Johnson Central at 6-0 should be somewhere in the top 7.
  12. This will be the fourth coach at Paintsville in the last 5 years, it will be almost impossible to build a up a football program when you keep changing coaches like this.
  13. I've heard a lot of people comment about the size of the crowd, but remember prior to this year fans from both teams sat on the same side and JC usually took up about 70% of the seating, this year they added the visitors bleachers thus giving JC fans more room to spread their wings. The crowds may be down a little but I don't think it's as bad as some think.
