I'm with you , 2C. Even if the kid knew it was against the rules but you had family and coaches saying it was OK, what's the kid going to do?

But they have broke some rules or they wouldnt of been punished....

Rules were broken, no doubt. Whether it was intentional is something we don't know.

It is simple. You can't explain it away. The violation is obvious and flagrant. The more you stir it, the more it stinks.

 

No one should even consider blaming the player. Shame on them if they do.

You know what is sooo funny is that all the rules violations that they are alleged of didn't even work for them. What have they won on the football field. Not a State Championship!!! I guess if you are going to do it, then do it right.

I wasnt going to post on this, but I have a theroy. Maybe the people of Johnson Central would like what happened at Johnson Central to stay in Johnson County. It's already been publicized enough. Have you ever thought the student, his family, and friends of the family would appreciate it not being brought back up? I mean they've already been through enough. Trust me. How would you feel if your child, sibling, or self, for that mattter, got a taste of sometime. Then out of no where had it took from them/you over something they/you had no control over. So I would appreciate if the story wasn't brought back up on this website. Thank you.

We're not asking for the kid's name, address and social security number to be posted on here. A lot of us would simply like to know the specifics of the case ... what rules violations were committed and by whom?

The problem is that when a Private school runs afoul of the rules, the cries of outrage in posts on this site calling for separation, boycott, banishment from post-season, etc., etc., are many. It is reasonable to wonder where that outrage is when a Public school is caught outside the rules. It is also reasonable to want an explanation of the details of the violation in order to assess whether the lack of outrage is justified since we see the Privates vilified regularly in multiple posts upon the publication of the discovery of violations.

 

I agree. I believe that we should be worried more about seeing that the cheaters are properly punished instead of worrying about a public vs. private issue. Outrage is justified.

I found this quote to be rather interesting:

 

“When I came here we had 15 players playing at other schools,” Matney said. “Now that we have a couple kids come in it gets tough I guess.”

 

Does that mean JC has taken in 15 transfers that are football players? At a time when other schools in the mountains are bleeding students?
