I thought Russell was weak but I knew that there 6,7 and 8th greaders were good but I guess there JV program is good aswell...

I have always wondered why Raceland and Russell have outstanding kickers???

This was different for us Ashland fans because we werent used to it. The coach has been here a couple of years and to the best of our knowledge had never went the whole week...

I say Belfry struggles to find the endzone this week. JC should roll on offense. JC 35 Belfry 7 Should be a dandy though, you never know with a game like this. Just based on numbers and what Ive seen of JC I pick them big. I honestly think they have a legit shot of taking Highlands down this year if they play a near perfect game.

After watching the game, I am still questioning Russell's play calling in the 3rd quarter. They drove down and ran right down Racelands throat to score. Averaging over 8yds a carry. They hold Raceland to a 3 and out, and then run 3 terrible pass plays, when it looked like Raceland was sucking wind hard. They still hold Raceland again, and then again run 3 terrible pass plays. Why no power I in the second half when Raceland could do nothing to stop it in the first? I still feel if Bailey was in there Russell wins by 17 or more, he is that much of a difference maker on offense, plus he is one of the best tackler in the secondary, where Russell showed some poor tackling. Seeing Ivan doing that play calling, makes me think some of the rumors Ive been hearing about him are true. I saw a few times Russell looked very confused on offense coming out of the huggle. I have heard from some Russell fans that Ivan has been calling plays that don't exist and never have in the history of Russell football, and just all in all something seems to be wrong. Russell really needs David Bailey back in a big way. They have not won a game without him. I will say emotionally Russell looked much better than they did against Ashland, hopefully they can keep that up through the playoffs.

Comments like this is why I dont have any respet for some Raceland posters....

If a coach cant handle other peoples opinions then he/she shouldnt coach... My kids arent even in grade school yet so we dont discuss football.. Several very loyal Ashland fans had a had time understanding why not practice in pads, actually we didnt even practice on Monday at all..

I know JC is very very good but I hope he wasnt thinking this....

From what I understand, Raceland was at full strength and Russell wasnt. Russell was without the best play maker. But like I said in an earlier post, Russell has no excuses on why they lost. So, IFRaceland gets lucky enough to play Beechwood in the playoffs wonder what the excuse is going to be IF Raceland loses. I give Raceland alot of credit but I just dont like how you all put it out there like Raceland is the supreme team among the area teams.:sssh:

I honestly thought that Russell would win this game so I really wasnt that surprised by the score. If Baily plays Russell wins but congrats to Raceland.

I also thought that JC would bring more fans than they did. They had a good crowd but I just thought there would be more....
