To get from Belfry to Johnson Central you pass through the following schools districts.

 

Pike Central, Pikeville Independent, Betsy Layne, Prestonsburg.

 

True, none of these schools offer wrestling.

 

But isn't their a rule that stipulates a move cannot be for the purpose of athletics?

 

Any Pike County school offers a pretty good education reputation, and Pikeville actually scores higher than JC in testing.

 

Not trying to throw stones, just wanting clarification on the rules.

 

The move wasnt just for athletices. As has been stated before it was to move closer to family. The young man happened to excell well in the sport of wrestling. And Johnson Central was the CLOSEST school to BELFRY that has a well established wrestling program. Whose to blame him for not wanting to continue a career in wrestling?

No that's why I put it as such " A move with a purpose, influenced by athletics."

 

To sevre the purpose they could have moved to any of the school districts I mentioned and would have been closer, but what ultimately decided which school he went to and where they moved was athletics.

 

The reason for moving is definately viable, I am just saying it is a shade of gray from the rule.

 

My personal feelings on this matter is that Johnson Central's timing to get "recruiting allegations" is making them the proverbial whipping post for all the Privates in the Public/Private saga... evenmoreso since LCA got drilled not too long ago.

 

This definately is not a cut/dry, right/wrong matter. There are several factors and personal viewpoints that are culminating.

Those that know anything about the situation agree 100% with these statements.

 

The KHSAA has a beef with Matney for hime speaking his mind and that got him by messing with a young man, sad day indeed.

Interesting that no one will come out and say what the KHSAA findings were in the Johnson Central investigation ... instead, we have the spin machine working to refute charges that we know little or nothing about.

 

Really, the process is pretty easy ... tell us what the KHSAA findings were, in detail, then tell us why you think they were wrong.

I could care less about KHSAA findings and such. Johnson Central and Coach Matney have agreed to the penalties. I would like to know if Jim will be allowed to coach the first 2 weeks or just hand the team to his assistants on game night?

I am thinking that he will be able to coach during the week and then will not be able to be near the vicinity on game nights. He will most likely scout JC's second and third game of the season or perhaps Highlands and/or Covington Catholic during the two game suspension...
