What is the rest of the story - I know you post later that KHSAA found he was living in a different address than listed on the originial request for waiver - that in and of itself should not be a problem. Did he ever live in the address on the original waiver, is the new address still within the JC school district, does the family still own the property in the previous (before JC) school district - what is the rest of the story?

 

As has been stated before. Yes the family lived in the house that was on the waiver. The new address is within the school district. Its actually about 2 miles from the highschool.

Okay, I understand that a coach that rents property to a player's family, especially a transfer student, looks somewhat fishy, but as far as I know there is nothing illegal about that senerio as long as the rent is being paid and the family is not receiving any special benefits.

 

Gees, this is America! Are we trying to say that a coach in high school can't own rental property and better himself finically? I'm not aware that this is even an issue with the KHSAA and it seems as if some of us are wanting to throw a couple of more punches after the fact.

 

As I've stated before the KHSAA has ruled, Johnson Central has accepted the terms of that ruling. Let it go. I have and I'm not even a Golden Eagle fan, but I think we need to be fair to the people of Jonhson Central. The system has run its course found what it found and did what it thought was fair. Now we must all move on IMO.

I have many times but we tend to go in circles and at this point it is all redundent. You have your opinions and I have my facts. When things like this happen 95% of the people have opinions and about 5% have the facts. So, are conversations about this have become tiresome and do nothing but put me to sleep at this point. No one is saying that the coach can't do anything like that. The KHSAA isn't either, as long as any arrangement complies with the rules and eligibility guidelines.

All some of us are asking for is a summary of the KHSAA findings and the very reasons the penalties were handed down. Just the fact that no one from Johnson Central is willing to discuss them, and the fact that the school and coach isn't appealing them, says a lot.

The problem there is, unless the KHSAA releases it to media or something your not going to get it.

Interesting, because the original KHSAA release referred any further comment to Johnson Central. Doesn't sound like a gag order to me.

Bottom line ... I suspect there are plenty of Johnson Central fans on this board that know the charges and know the ins and outs of the case. You don't see them getting on here defending the school, and that's pretty telling.
