*Jeanie*
Hargett- 8 Sargent- 3 Cheeseman- 2 Bowling- 5 Dixon- 4 Heeger- 3 Nargessi- 6 Warren- 2 Ryan- 2 Krahl- 2 (Missing one more scorer) The game started out slow for both teams. Simon Kenton went to their bench early, and lead by two, 9 to 7, end of the first period. Simon Kenton opened up the game, with a zone press, and Walton seemed a little confused. The lady Pioneers did a great job to take Hargett out of the game in this first half, and ran the inside all night long. The end of the first half, Simon 34 Walton 20. Simon Kenton came out of the half with the mind set, to put this game away early, and they did. They guards for The Pioneers placed a lot of pressure of Cheeseman and Ginn, which made them turn the ball over. They were just to strong and fast for the younger guards that Walton had out on the floor tonight. The end of the third period, Simon Kenton lead 55 to 27. The key's of this game was Rebounding/turnovers. Simon shot around 3 times as many shots as Walton did from the field. The inside play was just WAY to much for Walton's Dixon and Hargett. They did what they wanted in the post. Walton needs to shake this loss off, and move forward. They'll get their chance at SK in the district, and we'll see what happens then. Good job SK. and Walton keep your heads up and finish this season strong!

24smom
They'll get their chance at SK in the district, and we'll see what happens then. WV still has 1 more district game vs Williamstown. If WV wins, I believe it will force a draw between Williamstown & Grant County for the 3rd seed. If they lose, their first district game would be against Williamstown. Regardless, they have the 2nd seed, which means they have to play either Williamstown or Grant before they would face the winner of the 1st seed vs 4th seed game (which will be Simon Kenton I think all will agree). Williamstown always plays hard & Grant County only lost to Walton by 3 recently. Be careful looking past either team to take on Simon Kenton for the district title. Remember, you don't go to region unless you win the first round game. Grant County & Williamstown want to go just as badly as the WV gals do! Simon Kenton's streak of district wins continues. roger482ky
I attended last nights game and noticed both Figgins twins on the bench. What is their health status and will they be able to contribute this year?
welovethisgame
I attended last nights game and noticed both Figgins twins on the bench. What is their health status and will they be able to contribute this year? One with ACL the other with a strain....double blow to SK but both may return. Two very solid players. Is this true? Was she in foul trouble??
AllKnower
WOW, not to many teams get 10 kids to score against S.K. always find the positive. I agree W.V. will have to play well to get out of the District. I'm going to say that W'Town will get beat next week (by less than 5) but win the coin flip and upset W.V. in the first round of the district. OneCat
I was unable to go to the game, but heard that Hargett played little in the thord quarter while SK went on their run. Is this true? Was she in foul trouble?? No foul trouble - having a difficult time blocking out but that probably was due to size and the physical play under the basket. No calls for over the back! Which seems odd knowing that these teams play physical.
