I don't think adversely effects them at all. There really haven't been many "transfers" in from the Danville program over the years. There have been kids who started grade school in the city but ended up at the County by or before High School.

 

Nobody can think Morris would have an easier path to schollys. Harp has put more than his share of kids into Collegiate Football and his track record as a coach and a program will keep them there.

Yea Danville is the closest,but Mercer CO high school to boyle is around 10 mi

 

I would say Garrad to boyle around 12 mile and lincoln to boyle 13-14 mi...

 

Basicly one big City in the country...

 

I know, I know. I went to Centre and my son goes there now. Heck, I was engaged to a gal from Danville (Henry hates it when I tell folks about that). I know the area about as well as any yankee from N. Ky can know it.

I assumed that was the case, but was interested in knowing the thoughts of the Danville fans, whom like the Boyle County folks are great people that I love to tailgate with.

My first thought was no way this will happen. However, after considering it, I think it's a great fit for everyone. Coach Morris is financially secure and after having fought the recruiting wars and pressures of big time college football, this will be a very nice semi-retirement. He can coach young people and still have time to relax by working his ranch. I can't think of a much better way to ease into retirement. Plus, this renews interest in Boyle and hopefully helps them regain the prominence they enjoyed for so many years. The only problem I can find is that they would interview or hire without RebelK's approval.

I just had a very interesting conversation with someone "in the know" and he told me that Morriss has asked for a 4 - 5 year contract and he wants to teach. The interview took place in Lexington and he went home to discuss it with his wife. He doesn't have to teach in order to coach but I think it's a plus for him that he wants to. My "someone in the know" says that if these two issues can be worked out then he will be the next coach.

 

So I suppose we will just have to wait to see what comes of this.

Danville is quite the melting pot for a small CKY town. My client base is comprised of people from all parts of the country, many of whom have ended up here to retire. My last receptionist was from Philly (a true yankee not the pretend kind). Believe me, you'd fit in without getting a 2nd look from most people here.

All I know is that there is a whole lot of excitement around the program again. Boyle County has made the Lexington Herald Leader front sports page two days in a row. Great story about Morriss Mania in Boyle County in today's paper.

We all are just waiting to see what happens next. If what everyone says about Guy Morriss is true, then I have to believe he will take the job and stick around for quite some time. I don't see a lot of transfers, but you never know. I'm more concerned about the kids who didn't play coming back to play. Those kids alone will make a huge difference. I have seen some posts saying the kids that quit aren't "football players" and those people couldn't be more wrong. The BC program has needed a breath of fresh air and pursuing Guy Morriss is a step in the right direction. I couldn't be more proud of the administration for stepping up and even attempting to hire someone of his caliber to help restore the tradition that Coach Smith established. Regardless of what happens with Guy Morriss, I feel great about the future of the Boyle County football program.

WLEX said the AM is reporting that Morriss has accepted, while the AD @ Boyle is reporting that its not a done deal.

Man this story is like what my wife watches on the Soap Network. You never know what to expect next? She told me that tonight is "Cliff Hanger Friday" After all of this....I recken so. One thing for sure, this has been the talk of the town. I do not know 1 person that hasn't herd something from someone on this ordeal. I'd say the Ol' Saturday morning coffee clubs will be buzzing in the morning.
